The mining and metallurgical industry occupies one of the leading positions in the economy of Uzbekistan and is going through a period of active transformation. Today, the strategic goals of the industry are: the introduction of advanced technologies for the search and exploration of new deposits in order to ensure an increase in reserves, the creation of a favorable environment for attracting investments, the development of the potential of ferrous, radioactive and rare earth metallurgy, as well as structural transformations of enterprises to increase their operational efficiency.

The 5th International Mining and Metallurgical Forum, held on 1-2 November this year at the International Hotel Tashkent, became an effective business to discuss ways to implement the above-mentioned strategic goals.

The forum, organised with the support of the Ministry of Mines and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was attended by representatives of the industry of our republic and other countries: Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Kazakhstan, Canada, UAE, Russia, USA, Turkey, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden.

The theme of this large-scale event was "Prospects for the development of the international, regional and domestic mining and metallurgical sector. New Challenges - New Strategies", during which panel sessions were held with the participation of experts in this area.

The Forum focused on such topical issues as prospects for the development of the mining and metallurgical sector both in Uzbekistan and internationally, new challenges facing the industry and strategies to overcome them, issues of transformation of the domestic mining industry, introduction of technological innovations, experience in the development of various types of deposits, and much more.

Responsible persons of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant JSC also took part in this event, acting as speakers at the panel sessions. In particular, within the framework of this forum, a panel session of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC was held: "Experience of Deposit Development", the topics of which were "Current status of the project implementation: investment project « Development of the field – Yoshlik I», «Copper Enrichment Factory-3 (CEF-3)».

Deputy chief engineer of Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex for technologies, speaker of the forum Abdukhahhor Saynazarov: « Foreign engineering companies participating in the forum expressed a desire to implement their advanced achievements at the plant in the conditions of Almalyk. In particular, a Canadian company that trains industrial safety specialists showed interest in the plant.
