It was in this month that two of the greatest luminaries of Uzbek poetry were born: the sultan of poetry, Mir Alisher Navoi, and the outstanding poet and statesman, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. Their rich creative legacy, embodying the wisdom of the era, is rightfully considered a priceless treasure not only for our people but for the entire world civilization.
On 12 February this year, the literary and musical evening took place at the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture, a vibrant expression of deep respect and gratitude for these great ancestors.
As part of the event, entitled "Reverence to Great Ancestors," the artist groups from the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture presented guests with live performances of works based on the ghazels of Navoi and Babur.
Uygunbek Tovbaev's performance which featured a number of songs by People's Artist of Uzbekistan Sherali Juraev, based on Alisher Navoi's ghazels, deserved special applause from the audience.
The Palace's artist groups also presented stage performances reflecting the lives and creative legacy of our great ancestors.
The live musical performances, expressive stage images, and high level of artistic mastery were greeted with genuine delight and thunderous applause from the audience.
