The staff of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex celebrated Uzbekistan Mining and Metallurgical Industry Workers’ Day in a solemn and truly festive atmosphere.

Festive events were held in all divisions of the Complex. Festive tables were laid for the workers, top production workers were rewarded with commemorative gifts, and those who dedicated many years to the plant were awarded the honorary title of “Veteran of Labor”.

In addition, on the occasion of the professional holiday, a festive reception for veterans of labor of the Complex was organized in the “Markhamat” ceremonial complex in cooperation with the Republican Council of Veterans of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry.

On May 15, as part of the festive events at the AMMC sports complex, a large gala concert was held. The celebration opened with a festive procession of athletes from the Complex and teams from its structural divisions.

Speaking to the event participants, Senator Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC, warmly congratulated everyone on their professional holiday and emphasized that the Complex team is steadily achieving new and growing successes.

- In recent years, thanks to the unity and dedication of our team, we have achieved truly significant results. In particular, at Copper Concentrator No. 3, which was launched in March of this year, 2 million tons of ore were processed in just a short period of time, producing over 30 thousand tons of copper concentrate. In addition, using our own resources and internal capabilities, we completed the construction of the Kauldy gold recovery plant. I would like to note one more historical event with particular pride. On May 12 of this year, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex was awarded the Copper Mark and Molybdenum Mark certificates by the international organization Copper Mark. This achievement not only confirms the competitiveness of our products in European markets, but also demonstrates that the company is a responsible, world-class manufacturer and operates in full compliance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It is noteworthy that AMMC became the first enterprise among the CIS countries to obtain these certificates. This is our common victory, noted A. Khursanov.

During the event, a group of workers who had worked conscientiously at the Complex for many years were awarded the “Miner’s Glory” badges of various degrees. Valuable gifts were also awarded to the winners of the energy efficiency competition and to the builders who actively participated in the construction of Copper Concentrator No. 3.

The event’s special atmosphere was enhanced by the theatrical production “From History to Progress”, masterfully performed by staff from the Tashkent Regional National Guard and the Metallurg Palace of Culture. The production carried over the audience deep into history: the majestic image of the grand warlord Amir Temur and his fearless warriors came to life on stage, filling the stadium with a spirit of courage and national pride.

A highlight of the concert program was the performance of renowned opera singer and People’s Artist of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan, Jenisbek Piyazov. The audience also warmly responded to the performances of crowd pullers Bunyodbek Saidov, as well as national pop stars Shokhrukhkhon and Ziyoda, whose catching songs added a special touch to the fest. The festive evening ended with colorful fireworks display that lit up the night sky.

On May 16, a mass public festival took place near the Metallurg Palace of Culture, providing city residents with a wealth of memorable experiences. The festival program was opened by a marathon organized by the youth of the Complex.

As part of the public festivities, fairs were organized showcasing the Complex production achievements, products from its structural divisions, as well as modern technological developments and equipment. From the very first minutes, it was clear that each company addressed preparations for the holiday with special responsibility and creativity.

The sporting competitions in tug-of-war, table tennis, darts, kurash, boxing, chess and checkers, which were tense and spectacular, also attracted great interest.

The exhibitions and presentations organised in honour of the holiday were distinguished by a high level of preparation. The participants’ creativity, initiative, innovative ideas, and team cohesion were particularly noted.

During the festival, awards were presented to enterprises and organizations whose exhibits were deemed the most vibrant, creative, and informative, and which generated the greatest interest among event guests.

Those receiving incentives include the central analytical laboratory, the automobile transport department, the technological transport department, the social facilities department, the consumer goods production department, the copper processing plant, the zinc plant, the lime plant, the industrial water supply workshop, the civil defense detachment, the engineering school, the copper concentrator-3, and the Almalyk State Technical Institute.

Based on the results of the competition, third place was awarded to:

- Olmalikmetallurgkurilish trust – for the best exemplary construction exposition;

- Production Automation Management – for active implementation of artificial intelligence in all areas of activity;

- Department of Specialized Repair Works – for a creative approach and high work efficiency.

Second place was awarded to the explosives plant, the Kalmakyr mine administration, and the Kauldy mine administration for their responsible and dignified presentation of the production potential of their enterprises.

First place was won by the Industrial Rail Transport Directorate, Copper Concentrator No. 2, and the Copper Smelter for innovative projects, energy efficiency initiatives, and the implementation of artificial intelligence.

The team from the Central Repair and Mechanical Plant was recognized as the overall winner of the exhibition and the Grand Prix for their modern approaches, implementation of localization programs, and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence and innovative technologies.

The Tashkent Regional National Guard Directorate and the military unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan were separately recognized for their active participation, exemplary demonstration performances, military-patriotic program, and significant contribution to the high-level celebrations.

These celebratory events are especially significant: they not only recognize the hard work of industry workers, but also become an important step toward uniting the Complex team for new achievements.
