On October 15 of this year, the President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Almalyk in order to get acquainted with the main objects and projects that contribute to the development of the industrial potential of the Tashkent region.

First, the head of our state visited the engineering school of "Almalik Mining and Metallurgical Complex" JSC, where he got acquainted with the activities of the place. Based on the German experience, 480 engineers are trained here and 1,000 employees are trained. Lessons are conducted with the participation of foreign professors and teachers based on the directions and topics.

The training program was developed based on the advanced educational methodologies of the German Freiberg Mining Academy, GP Günter Papenburg AG and Aurubis AG. Accordingly, the school is equipped with modern educational and practical equipment in the fields of mechanics, metallurgy, production automation, mineral enrichment, and energy.

During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the "Yoshlik 1" mine and the 3rd copper concentrator plant being built on its base.

A promising investment project is being implemented here in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on March 1, 2017.

The mining area is 11,000 hectares. The reserves are also significant - 65 million tons of ore per year. This mine contains 13 types of precious and rare metals such as gold, copper, silver, molybdenum, selenium.

The head of our state visited this mine, inspected the excavation works and communicated with experts.

The 3rd copper beneficiation plant of the Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex is being built for the production of high-value products from the ores of the "Yoshlik 1" mine. The foundation stone for its construction was laid on July 29, 2021.

The cost of this major project is 4.6 billion dollars and includes mining, construction of the factory and its infrastructure. Currently, 200 million cubic meters of mining surface has been opened, 41 kilometers of railways have been laid. Equipment is imported from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Turkey, China, Russia and other European countries. The construction of factories and other infrastructures is in full swing.

The President got acquainted with the great creative works here. Information was given about the economic efficiency of the future plant, the advanced technologies used in it, and conveniences in the work process.

The head of state also visited the workshops of the mechanical repair enterprise "Enter Steel" and got acquainted with the new equipment and work process.

Then, under the chairmanship of the President, a meeting was held to discuss the current state of Tashkent region development and future tasks.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev thoroughly analyzed the economic and social results in the region and pointed out additional opportunities.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to the city of Almalyk, took part in the ceremony dedicated to the start of the construction of the 4th copper concentrator plant and started the construction of this new plant by pressing a symbolic button.

Through this project worth 4.6 billion dollars, 146,000 tons of cathode copper, 13 tons of gold and 73 tons of silver will be created per year. Annual production reaches 1.9 billion dollars. More than 3 thousand people work in the factory and its infrastructure.

Italian "Wood" and Great Britain "Worley Parsons" companies were involved in the project. High-tech, ecologically safe and cost-effective technologies are used in production.

It is worth mentioning that currently the 5th beneficiation plant of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex is being designed.
