Summary: AMMC representatives recognized

On December 3 of this year, the Ministry of Mining and Geology hosted an “Open Doors Day” event as part of the Anti-Corruption month dedicated to December 9 — International Anti-Corruption Day.

The event was attended by the Minister of Mining and Geology, his deputies and advisers, employees of the ministry’s executive office, heads of system enterprises, officials of anti-corruption compliance services, as well as representatives of the media and the general public.

During the event, Minister of Mining and Geology B. Islamov provided participants with detailed information on the work carried out to combat corruption within the ministry and its subordinate enterprises.

Following this, R. Ibragimov, Director of the “CERT International”, presented international certificates to the ministry’s leadership in accordance with the results of external audits conducted under the ISO 37001 and ISO 37301 international standards.

As part of the Anti-Corruption month, winners among employees of subordinate enterprises were determined in the categories “Best Article,” “Best Poem,” “Best Drawing,” and “Best Video” on anti-corruption themes. The winners were awarded commemorative gifts from the ministry.

In addition, Prosecutor of the Law Enforcement Academy and Doctor of Philosophy in Law T. Safarov addressed the audience with a lecture titled “Issues of Forming a Culture of Legal Idealism in Combating Corruption in the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

Notably, in the “Best Poem” category, Bekmirza Janibekov, fire safety engineer at the Copper Concentrator Plant of “Almalyk MMC” JSC won first place with his poem titled “Bribee”

At the event, the AMMC Compliance Service was also awarded an honorable second place in the nomination “Most Active Compliance Unit” for its efforts in the field of anti-corruption.
