Enameled copper wire is an integral part of many strategically important industries, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications, energy, and household appliances. These wires ensure the reliable and uninterrupted operation of electric motors, transformers, generators, and other complex equipment.

Demand for these products continues to grow every year. Therefore, our country is consistently implementing measures to increase the production of high-value-added copper products, pursue import substitution, and expand export potential.

One striking example of this work is the enameled wire drawing and production shop at the Copper Smelter. Here, special attention is paid to the implementation of modern technologies, expansion of production capacity, and the manufacture of competitive products that meet international market demands.

The division began operations on 23 March 1995, and since 2000 has operated as an independent production unit within the Copper Smelter.

A new stage of the shop's development began in 2017. As part of the Complex modernization and diversification program, the "Copper Wire Production Organization" investment project was implemented. This project enabled the development of export-oriented copper wire with high added value, ranging in diameter from 1 to 4.5 millimeters.

The production process is organized into two main sections. The first stage is the wire drawing section. Here, 8-millimeter-diameter copper rod passes through special dies, where modern equipment reduces its diameter and increases its length. The result is copper wire of various sizes that meet customer specifications.

The next stage is the enameling section. Its production capacity is 500 tons per year. In this section, the finished copper wire is coated with eight layers of a special electrical insulating varnish, ensuring high insulating properties and full compliance with international quality standards.

As reported by Shop Manager Zohidhon Omilhonov, the team completes all assigned production tasks in a timely manner and in full. The quality of the products is constantly monitored by the shop's analytical laboratory. Samples taken each shift are tested for varnish coating strength, insulating layer quality and thickness, ductility, hardness, and mechanical strength. Only after receiving a positive laboratory report are finished products delivered to the customer in full compliance with established standards.
