+998 71 619 23 33This year, our country is widely celebrating the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great statesman and military leader, the patron of science, culture and arts – Sahibkiran Amir Temur.
In particular, a number of events are being held at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex to celebrate the occasion. Today, a spiritual and educational event entitled "Sahibkiran's Legacy: The Unity of History and Thought" was held in the assembly hall of Copper Processing Plant No. 3. The event discussed the significance of Amir Temur's legacy, its historical role, and its instructive aspects for the present generation.
Participants included the Academician and source specialist Dilorom Yusupova and her students, young people from the Complex, history teachers from town schools, university students, and respected veterans.
In his speech, Senator Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, noted the need for a more in-depth study of the rich legacy of their great ancestor, Timur. According to him, Sahibkiran's determination, courage and bravery should serve as an example for the younger generation. Khursanov emphasized that Timur was not only an outstanding military commander and statesman, but also the embodiment of high spirituality and justice.
Academician Dilorom Yusupova shared interesting facts about Sahibkiran:
“Studying the rich legacy of Timur, we see that he devoted great attention to the creation. It's enough to recall Samarkand, where the monuments and structures erected during that era still amaze the imagination. His descendants continued his creative works, especially in education: they built madrassas and planted gardens. It's noteworthy that the women of Timur's kin also actively participated in charitable works. For example, his wife, Saraymulk Hanum, sold an earring and built a madrassah. Shahruh Mirza's wife, Gavharshod Begim, while in Herat, devoted great attention to Mirzo Ulugbek upbringing, and her contribution to the development of the great scholar is invaluable. She sought to surround her grandson with outstanding scholars of the time: Kozizoda Rumi from Turkey and Giyasuddin Kashi from Iran visited him. Timur himself made a huge contribution to the development of science, inviting scholars and creating all the necessary conditions for them. He devoted attention not only to the humanities but also to the exact sciences, which played a significant role in the creation of Zij Ulugbek. I am confident that the men of genius like Timur and Mirzo Ulugbek will emerge from among our youth. All the necessary conditions have been created in the country; we just need to take advantage of them.”
The event also featured the lecture by Abdukayum Abdukadyrov, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Almalyk branch of NUST MISIS, titled "On the Place and Role of the Ilak Valley in the System of Military Routes and Economic Infrastructure of the Timur's State."
Almalyk State Technical Institute Rector Utkir Khalikulov shared his thoughts on the opportunities for higher education and scientific research in the town, as well as the study of the Timur history and legacy at universities specializing in the mining and metallurgy industries.
The attendees received detailed answers to their questions about the Timur's life.
