On April 19-20 of current year, Carsten Drebenstedt, the director of the Institute of Mining and Mine Construction of the “Freiberg Mining Academy” Technical University, visited the Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex.

On the first day of his visit, Professor Dr. C. Drebenstedt visited the units of AMMC, got acquainted with the production and technological process of the largest copper producer in Central Asia. In particular, the guest visited the Kalmakyr mine, the Yoshlik I deposit, the copper concentrator, and familiarized himself with the progress of construction of the copper concentrator-3.

Drebenstedt also visited the copper smelting plant, in the metallurgical shop where he was able to directly observe the process of obtaining copper cathode, the main product of AMMC.

On the second day of his visit, the professor visited the Almalyk branch of the National Research Technological University “Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys” and the Tashkent State Technological University named after Islam Karimov. The visitor got acquainted with the educational process of each university and the conditions created for students.

On the second day of the visit, Carsten Drebenstedt also had a meeting with the leadership of AMMC, the training center, as well as the branches of both universities and their academic teaching staff.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation.
