AMMC Receives Recognition at Tashkent Anti-Corruption Forum

The Tashkent Anti-Corruption Forum V is taking place on October 22-23.

The forum serves as the central event of the annual “Anti-Corruption Week”, organized at the initiative of the National Council for Combating Corruption.

For five consecutive years, this forum has remained an open platform for dialogue, introducing new standards of global cooperation, innovative approaches, and practical solutions.

This year’s event, held under the theme “From Discussion to Real Change”, is organized by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of major international partners such as the European Union, the UN Development Program, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the U.S Department of State, OECD, UNODC, OSCE, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and Qatar’s Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center.

Around 250 participants – including foreign delegations, government bodies, civil society, and media representatives – are attending the forum. Officials and experts from over 20 countries such as Slovenia, Georgia, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Germany, and Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of Transparency International, OECD, ADB, OSCE, UN agencies, and other international organizations are taking part.

The program includes plenary sessions and panel discussions on topics such as: “Artificial Intelligence as a Tool to Combat Corruption”, “A New Phase of Compliance Control: Preventing Corruption in Government Agencies and Enterprises”, “Anti-Corruption Education: Strategies to Enhance Effectiveness and Public Awareness”.

Ahead of the main forum, special sessions were held today with the participation of international organizations, leading experts from the anti-corruption bodies of foreign countries, representatives of ministries and agencies, public organizations, as well as a number of local and foreign experts.

These sessions focused o topics like: “Ensuring control and accountability in public spending”, “A presentation of the draft law “On the Protection of the Persons Reporting Corruption and Corruption-Related Offences” as well as on the prospects of its implementation based on international best practices ”, “Transparency and openness as a tool to combat corruption”, “Preventing corruption at the regional level: challenges and opportunities”.

In addition, during the special sessions held on October 22 ahead of the forum, topics such as the “Islands of Integrity” methodology, monitoring of public expenditures, information transparency, and the protection of individuals who report corruption or corruption-related offences were discussed.

The management and specialists of the “AMMC” JSC are also participating in this prestigious event.

As per tradition, this year’s Tashkent Anti-Corruption Forum also recognized those who have made significant contributions to the fight against corruption.

In particular, the “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” JSC was awarded in the category “For its efforts in ensuring transparency and openness of operations”.
