From 2 to 4 June 2026, the international environmental exhibition "ECO EXPO CENTRAL ASIA" was held in Samarkand. It became one of the largest platforms in Central Asia for discussing environmental protection, adaptation to climate change, green economy development, introduction of ESG principles, and the promotion of environmental innovation.

The event brought together 136 foreign delegates, the representatives of the international financial institutions, environmental organizations, research centers and industrial enterprises.

JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” actively participated in the exhibition. At the exhibition, AMMC presented the specialized stand dedicated to ongoing projects in environmental protection, resource conservation, waste management, rational use of water resources, and the implementation of ESG approaches. The exhibition caused significant interest from foreign delegations and potential investors. A number of meetings were held during the exhibition, focusing on the Complex environmental initiatives and its investment potential.

Following the negotiations, a number of important agreements were reached.

In particular, the memorandum of cooperation was signed between JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” and the Research Institute of Environmental Protection and Nature Management Technologies at the Asian University of Environment and Climate Change “Green University”. The document provides for joint efforts to improve the efficiency of treatment of wastewater generated during production processes, implement modern water treatment technologies, conduct research and development, incorporate innovative developments into production, and enhance the qualifications of specialists.

Furthermore, the memorandum of cooperation was signed with Sredaztsvetmetenergo, Eco Power & Charge, and several other partner organizations to study the potential for effectively capturing and processing dust and gas waste streams generated at the lime plant. The project will explore the prospects for producing industrial gases, including liquid nitrogen. The document also provides for the implementation of a project to generate additional electricity through the use of Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) technologies, which allow the conversion of excess heat from production processes into an energy resource.

The project's key significance lies in the development of financing mechanisms using international environmental and climate funds. During the negotiations, the parties discussed the potential for implementing the initiative using green financing instruments.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Complex representatives held a series of meetings with international specialists, investors, and technology suppliers. The parties exchanged experiences in waste recycling, air protection, water resource management, production decarbonization, and the implementation of ESG practices, and identified promising areas for further cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to studying the modern environmental solutions presented at the exhibition. Specialists were introduced to the latest water purification systems, dust and gas cleaning units, automated environmental monitoring systems, renewable energy technologies, and energy-efficient equipment. Their technical and economic efficiency are currently being analyzed with a view to their possible implementation at the Complex facilities.

Following the exhibition, the organizers highly praised the work of JSC “Almalyk MMC” in the area of ​​environmental protection. The Complex environmental service specialists were thanked for their active participation in the event, their contribution to the development of international cooperation, and the promotion of environmental initiatives. In recognition, they were awarded a certificate.

Participation in the international exhibition "ECO EXPO CENTRAL ASIA-2026" was an important step in strengthening the AMMC's international environmental image. Signed memoranda of cooperation, along with the exploration of advanced technologies and investment opportunities, created a practical foundation for the implementation of major environmental projects in the future, involving international environmental funds.
