21 July 2026, 8:44 331

In the globalization conditions, training competitive specialists requires implementation of modern approaches in the educational process, the effective combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and expanded cooperation with the leading international universities.

Some of the most effective tools in this area remain international exchange of experience, joint research projects, and academic mobility programs.

As part of this effort, the delegation of faculty and students from Tashkent State Technical University and the China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) recently visited AMMC. The visit took place as part of the summer school program.

First, the guests visited the observation deck of the Qalmaqqir mine, where open-pit ore mining is conducted.

"I am very pleased to have the opportunity to visit Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex as part of the summer school program. For us, acquaintance with the entire production cycle was an invaluable experience and a significant source of new knowledge. This trip allowed me to further understand the scale and potential of cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in the mining industry. I am confident that the remaining days of the summer school will be no less useful and informative", – noted Yu Ran, a student at the China University of Mining and Technology.

For reference: Founded in 1909, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) is one of the world's most respected universities in mining engineering. The university trains specialists in geology, mining, geotechnology, artificial intelligence, and digital mining. Today, it is training over 33,000 students, and its research is conducted in collaboration with leading universities and industrial enterprises worldwide.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the operations of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. This visit allowed us to witness firsthand the achievements of the modern mining industry and modernization processes, as well as gain valuable practical experience. Long-standing fruitful cooperation with the Tashkent State Technical University facilitates the successful implementation of faculty and student exchange programs, joint research projects, and summer schools” – emphasized Yuan Yun, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mining at the China University of Mining and Technology.

On behalf of the entire delegation, he also expressed gratitude to the management of Tashkent State Technical University and Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex for the warm welcome and attention.

During the visit, the guests visited the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture, where they viewed museum exhibits dedicated to the history of the Complex, its development stages, and its current achievements.

It is worth noting that such initiatives aimed at strengthening interaction between education and industry play an important role in training highly qualified specialists who meet international standards. The combination of the China's advanced educational experience and AMMC’s long-standing production potential not only contributes to the development of the industry but also creates a solid foundation for the further expansion of scientific and technical cooperation and the strengthening of friendly ties between Uzbekistan and China.
