A Number of Important Agreements were Reached on the First Day of the International Investment Forum

The first day of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum was filled with productive negotiations and significant agreements for Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

During the forum, the AMMC management held a number of productive meetings with representatives of foreign financial institutions and investors.

In particular, during the negotiations with the representatives of ING Bank, one of the largest banks in the Netherlands, the parties discussed the prospects for expanding the cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to financing the Complex major investment projects, developing long-term investment partnerships, and implementing modern banking and financial instruments.

Furthermore, the Complex management held the meetings with the representatives of the US company Clark Hill PLC and ADCB Bank (United Arab Emirates), during which the promising areas for further cooperation were discussed.

One of the key events of the first day of the forum was the official signing of the founding documents for Joint Venture APS Energia-AMMC, which will be implemented in collaboration between AMMC and the Polish company APS Energia.

Also during the forum, JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” and China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. signed the cooperation agreement. The document provides for the implementation of joint projects to organize reagent production, recycle secondary resources, and extract precious metals from ore.

In addition, AMMC signed the memorandum of understanding with the Egyptian company Elsewedy Electric, one of Egypt's largest energy and infrastructure companies. According to the agreements reached, the parties intend to implement the joint project for deep processing of copper and the production of high-value-added products. Elsewedy Electric was founded in 1938. Today, it operates 30 production sites in 15 countries, employing over 15,000 people. The company is a leader in the production of cable products, transformers, electrical equipment, construction and equipping of power transmission lines and distribution networks, gas meters, and renewable energy solutions.

Today, as part of the forum, the memorandum of understanding was signed between JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”  and the Export Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO). The document provides for insurance coverage for potential financing of modern process equipment from Denmark for the investment project to build the new copper processing plant No. 4.

5th Tashkent International Investment Forum

The 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum opened today. More than 8,000 representatives from 99 countries are expected to participate in the forum, which will run until 18 June. This large-scale international event is expected to feature the signing of major investment agreements, as well as a comprehensive presentation of Uzbekistan's economic potential.

The forum program includes plenary session, bilateral meetings, industry and regional presentations, investment agreement signing ceremonies, as well as business negotiations and discussion platforms for business representatives.

In addition, the exhibition dedicated to Uzbekistan's investment potential has been organized. It demonstrates the country's capabilities in such areas as agriculture, light industry, geology, electrical engineering, machinery, chemical industry, energy, artificial intelligence, and information technology.

The forum also plans to sign major investment agreements across a wide range of sectors, including the chemical industry, geology and metallurgy, electrical engineering, machinery, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, digital technologies, transport and logistics, tourism, and education.

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex is also participating in this prestigious international forum, presenting its production potential and ongoing investment projects.
