During the seminar, participants received a detailed explanation of the content and significance of Resolution No. 819 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 24 December 2025, "On Approval of Certain Provisions in the Field of Occupational Safety."
According to the new version of the provisions approved by this document, the activities of occupational safety representatives have been significantly improved. The document places particular emphasis on the following areas:
1) Monitoring and Supervision
The authorized persons are granted expanded powers to exercise public oversight over compliance with occupational safety requirements in the workplace and to ensure worker safety.
2) Employer Responsibilities
The enterprise administration is obligated to create the necessary conditions for the commissioners to perform their functions, including providing them with specialized occupational safety training.
3) Social Protection
At least two hours of work per week are guaranteed for the authorized representative to perform his duties without interruption from work, with retention of average wages for the period.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that, in accordance with the requirements of the resolution, responsibility for ensuring safe working conditions at the enterprise rests not only with the management but also equally with the trade union and elected authorized representatives.
During the event, the proper and effective organization of the work of occupational safety and health authorized representatives, their functional responsibilities, and the increased attention currently being paid to this area were discussed.
It was especially emphasized that ensuring occupational safety and safe working conditions is a priority for the enterprise, and that the working conditions of employees in production facilities must be constantly monitored.
Following the seminar, the main objectives and areas for further work were identified.
