The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex continues to actively expand international cooperation within the framework of the objectives set by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to attract foreign investment, deep processing of raw materials, and the development of high-tech industries.

Recently, a representative delegation from the People’s Republic of China, which included representatives of one of the largest engineering companies in the mining and metallurgical industry, China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd., as well as the Export-Import Bank of China has visited the Complex.

It is worth noting that Nerin is one of the world’s leading EPC contractors in the field of mineral processing and metallurgical technologies, automation of industrial processes and environmental solutions for the mining industry. During the meeting, AMMC management and Chinese partners discussed promising projects aimed at expansion of the Complex production capacity and construction of a new metallurgical complex. In particular, the company will take part in the construction of a slag enrichment plant at the complex being built at the Complex.

The guests also visited the Complex history museum, located in the Metallurg Palace of Culture, after which they visited the observation decks of the Kalmakyr and Yoshlik I quarries. Experts provided foreign partners with detailed information on the scale of open-pit ore mining, deposit reserves, and the heavy equipment used.

Nerin Engineering International Business Office Director Huang Xiang noted:

- Our company specializes in technologies and equipment for non-ferrous metallurgy. In particular, we are one of the world leaders in the copper industry. AMMC has a significant resource base for copper production. We are ready to offer our technologies to increase production volumes and improve efficiency. In the future, we also plan to participate in the reconstruction of a copper smelter as part of an investment project to develop the Yoshlik I deposit.

The delegation also toured the new Copper Concentrator-3, where the digital production process control system was of particular interest to the guests.

During the visit, representatives of Chinese business and financial circles also observed the copper smelter’s production chain from the control room. It was noted that the introduction of modern technologies and the attraction of large foreign investments will allow AMMC to further strengthen its position not only in the domestic market, but also among the world’s leading copper producers.

The recent negotiations between the plant and China’s largest industrial and financial institutions will undoubtedly mark an important step in taking bilateral cooperation to a new level.
