Large-scale investment projects being implemented at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex are contributing to the consistent expansion of production capacity and accelerated technological upgrades across all divisions. The new, state-of-the-art drilling rig, delivered to the industrial water supply shop, is further proof of this commitment.

As noted by Arabbek Mavashev, Acting Senior Foreman of the Drilling Section, the new URB-50 Krantas drilling rig is distinguished by its high productivity, reliability, and broad technical capabilities.

While the previously used equipment allowed drilling to depths of up to 50 meters, the new rig is capable of operations at depths of up to 1,300 meters, significantly expanding the division's production capabilities.

The operating principle of the equipment is also significantly different. The older rigs used a percussion method, requiring the resulting soil and rock mass to be removed manually or with the help of additional equipment. This required significant labor and time. The new rig operates on rotation principle: during drilling, the borehole walls are reinforced with a special solution to prevent their collapse, and the drilled rock is automatically lifted to the surface.

This modern equipment is designed to perform a wide range of industrial tasks, including:

• Drilling and repair of industrial water supply wells;
• Construction of degassing, ventilation, and dewatering wells for technical purposes;
• Installation of utility networks to underground mine workings;
• Drilling wells for hydraulic mining and in-situ leaching.

The new rig will also be used in the national "Yashil Makon" (Green Land) project. The equipment will be used to drill irrigation wells to supply water to new green zones and landscaped areas.

It is particularly noteworthy that this high-tech equipment was manufactured in Uzbekistan under the Localization Program. This is a significant contribution to the development of the domestic industry and the implementation of import substitution policies.

To ensure the efficient operation of the new equipment, 13 drilling rig operators from the workshop have undergone specialized training at the AMMC training center under a specially developed advanced training program and have received the relevant certificates.

The division's technological upgrade will not end there. Further expansion of the equipment fleet is planned for the future, with the acquisition and commissioning of another modern drilling rig – URB-25 Krantas.
