For the first time in Uzbekistan, AMMC specialists, together with the Andijan Mechanical Plant, have mastered the production of a new type of specialized freight car model 15-1482.

Everyone knows that when carrying out blasting at the quarries of the plant, the need for the production of explosive materials is constantly growing, and that, in turn, requires the necessary chemical components.

According to the Protocol order of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 10.10.2019 regarding the effective organization of current activities and the acceleration of investment projects of JSC “Almalyk MMC”, Order of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 10.14.2019 No. 9202 on the implementation of the project "Comprehensive development of the Yoshlik I field" in the structural subdivision of the plant, namely at the plant for the production of explosive materials, in order to carry out the approved planned blasting operations at the Kalmakyr plant and the Yoshlik 1 deposits, the electric and water supply system is being modernized and reconstructed, the steam generator unit and the existing system for the production of bulk emulsion are being replaced with a new one, with an increased annual productivity by several times, which requires the provision of the required amount of chemical reagents, incl. ammonium nitrate.

Ammonium nitrate is a well-known inorganic chemical used in the manufacture of explosives. Transportation of ammonium nitrate was carried out from "Maxam-Chirchik" using tank cars rented from "Uzbekneftgaz" JSC. These tank cars are about to expire.

Due to the growing need for chemicals, as well as in order to save foreign currency, the management of the plant decided to study the issue of manufacturing and purchasing tanks for the transportation of ammonium nitrate from local domestic manufacturers.

So, at the end of 2021, the department of railway transport and logistics, together with specialists from ZVM and representatives of the Andijan Mechanical Plant, determined the necessary technical characteristics. Since the tank is specialized, transporting explosive goods, all requirements for safe operation were taken into account. Design and technological drawings, technical documentation and technical solutions for the manufacture of isothermal tank cars for the transportation of ammonium nitrate have been developed and approved.

To date, the manufacture of this tank is carried out in Uzbekistan for the first time.

By the end of February of this year, work on the manufacture of the first tank car was completed, and the first tank car arrived on the way of the plant. It remains only to issue the necessary documents for commissioning.

Umar Mavlyankulov, Head of the Railway Transport and Logistics Department of the plant: “The commissioning of two tank cars will create an opportunity to ensure the stable implementation of all approved planned blasting operations at the Kalmakyr plant at the Yoshlik 1 fields. At the same time, work to improve the technological processes of transportation and reduce the cost of production will continue purposefully and constantly.”
