On October 21 of this year, a videoconference meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss the effectiveness of work within the framework of the national project “ Yashil Macon " ("Green Land") and priority tasks for the future.

During the meeting, tasks for the current and next year were defined.

This spring, 138 million seedlings were planted. Since the beginning of the year, more than 10 thousand hectares of green belts have been created, ministries and khokimiyats have planted 257 gardens. Trees are being planted and "green belts" are being organized around large industrial enterprises and landfills.

Significant work in this direction is also carried out by the work collective of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. For example, these days the workers of the copper processing plant are preparing cuttings of ornamental trees and flower seedlings for the planting season. These are basil (50,000 seedlings), petunia (34,078 seedlings), Chinese juniper (10,000 seedlings), periwinkle (5,000 seedlings), saffron (10,000 seedlings), rose (3,500 seedlings), as well as oak (3,500 seedlings), chestnut (3,500 seedlings).

The workers of the Industrial Rail Transport Department have also started preparing for the current season. The railway workers are preparing to plant 800 grape seedlings and 5,700 poplar seedlings.

The copper smelter team is faced with the task of preparing 82,667 poplar cuttings. As of today, 20,000 cuttings are ready for planting. Excavation work is underway.

Our country has set a goal of planting 200 million trees and shrubs annually to bring the greening rate to 30 percent by 2030. In recent years, this figure has reached 12%.

During the autumn season of the current year, within the framework of the Green Region project, it is planned to plant 80 million tree and shrub seedlings in our country.
