+998 71 619 23 33Today, the global community is facing with unprecedented environmental challenges. Global warming, melting glaciers, and declining biodiversity are no longer just theoretical predictions, but real threats that directly affect our daily lives.
Rising average temperatures on the planet lead to droughts, as well as an increase in the frequency of unexpected natural disasters.
In this challenging environment, Uzbekistan is making a significant contribution to environmental conservation by implementing its strategic initiative, the nationwide “Yashil Makon” (“Green Land”) project.
Large workforces from the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, which unites thousands of workers, are particularly active in this effort, consistently promoting the idea of expanding green spaces. As an example, as part of the activities of the Technological transport department alone, 107 thousand poplar seedlings and more than 40 thousand cuttings are grown on a designated 15-hectare territory.
In addition, flowers, fruit and ornamental trees are planted in industrial zones.
Deputy Head of Capital Construction and General Affairs of the Technological Transport Department Fakhriddin Khamzaev noted: “As part of a nationwide project, 1,500 violets, approximately 1,300 saffron plants, over 2,300 basil bushes, and 310 lilac bushes have been planted on the premises of the department. The department’s employees are creating so-called “green belts” around production facilities”.
Every seedling planted today will help to purify the air and reduce dust levels in the future.
Such systemic activities clearly demonstrate that the Yashil Makon project is a long-term and vital initiative.
