On May 20, the country launched a month-long campaign to ensure fire safety called "Stepped-up 30 Days". As part of this campaign, preventive measures, seminars, and tactical training are being held in the divisions of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

On May 28, one of these seminars was held at the copper smelter. It was attended by the Head of the Department for ensuring fire safety of especially important facilities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Jahongir Soyipov, Deputy Head of the Tashkent Region Emergencies Department, Gayrat Ibragimov, Head of the department, Sherzod Ziyoyev, Head of the Department for organizing fire safety at the Complex's facilities, Adham Akhrorov, Deputy Head of civil defense for fire safety, Bekhzod Abulkasymov, and acting director of the plant, Islom Umaraliev.

The participants were presented with an analysis of the causes and consequences of the fires that occurred.

According to the data, 3,231 fires were registered in the country in the first 4 months of this year. As a result of the fires, 31 people died, 46 received various injuries, and the total damage exceeded 615 billion UZS. 70% of all fires (2,578 cases) occurred in the residential areas. The main causes are faulty electrical appliances, poor-quality cables and failure to comply with basic fire safety rules.

During the seminar, the educational video was shown, and practical instructions were also given. Mirzamurod Juraev, Commander of the plant's volunteer fire brigade, and inspector Alisher Absaitov spoke about the main types of primary fire extinguishing equipment, rules for their storage, use and maintenance.

The exhibition of fire and rescue equipment of the 51st professional fire and rescue squad of AMMC and civil defense was organized for the participants. Specialized vehicles, equipment, outfit and gear were also demonstrated. A fire simulation was also performed, during which the volunteer squad and firefighters of the 51st squad worked out joint actions: prompt notification, evacuation, elimination of the source of the fire, etc.

Such events not only help ensure fire safety, but also remind everyone of the need to be attentive and careful when handling fire.
