Briefing: results of production activities of AMMC for the first quarter of 2025

In the current 2025, the Complex ’s products will be supplied to Israel and Morocco.

This was reported by the head of the information service of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex  Umida Karshiboeva at the briefing held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications.

JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex ” successfully completed production targets for the first quarter of 2025.

According to the results of the quarter, the volume of production of commercial products amounted to 9.1 trillion UZS with the planned 8.2 trillion – the forecast fulfillment was 113.9%. The production of consumer goods also exceeded the forecast: with a forecast of 1.7 billion UZS, products worth 2.3 billion were produced, which is 134.4% of the target.

The forecast for the production of cathode copper was fulfilled by 101.4%, and the growth rate was +101.7%. Copper production from own raw materials reached 118.4% of the forecast, zinc – 102.7%. Production forecasts for such items as copper sulfate, enameled copper wire, technical selenium and tellurium, ammonium perrhenate and palladium powder were also fully met.

Export

In January-March of this year, the export volume amounted to 101.7 million US dollars, which corresponds to 105.4% of the forecast. The exported products include cathode copper and copper rod, zinc, zinc and copper sulfate, cadmium and technical tellurium.

In 2025, the Complex  plans to expand the geography of supplies by entering the markets of Israel and Morocco.

Localization and Import Substitution Program

Within the framework of the Localization Program, 93 projects were implemented for a total of 312.4 billion UZS (104% of the forecast). The effect of import substitution amounted to 24 million USD. Under new projects, localized products were manufactured for 252.7 billion UZS, and the volume of their export amounted to 364.2 thousand dollars.

The actual volume of imports amounted to 47.8 million dollars with a forecast of 64 million - this is 75% of the forecast. Thanks to the measures taken to reduce imports, it was possible to save 11.6 million dollars in foreign currency, the plan was fulfilled by 129%.

Also, as part of supporting domestic producers and developing cooperation ties, local products were purchased for the amount of 436.8 billion UZS – the forecast was fulfilled by 125%.

Investments

During the reporting period, 205.4 million dollars (102.1% of the forecast) were spent within the framework of the investment program, of which 105.4 million were through direct foreign loans (the forecast was fulfilled by 101.7%).

Digitalization

In 2025, AMMC plans to implement 21 projects within the framework of digitalization. In the first quarter of this year, 8 of them were launched. The main areas are: automation of production processes, implementation of modern IT systems, improvement of management efficiency, development of artificial intelligence and information security, training of specialists.

Among the achieved results:

“E-Metrologiya” system with a database of 46 thousand measuring devices was launched;

E-mail accounts of 2900 users were protected;

A monitoring system for 5000 network devices (NAC) was implemented.

Ratings and recognition

In February 2025, the international rating agency Sustainable Fitch assigned AMMC an ESG rating of level "3" and 56 points, noting the sustainable development strategy, effective management and environmental responsibility of the plant. This is the highest indicator among enterprises in the mining and metallurgical industry of Uzbekistan. The assessment covers compliance with international standards, compliance with taxonomies, contribution to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and integration of the ESG approach into strategy and business processes.

Certification

In February 2025, AMMC obtained the certificate of compliance with the international standard ISO 50001:2018, which is aimed at systematic energy management, cost reduction and minimization of environmental impact. The implementation of this standard contributes to more efficient use of energy resources and the introduction of modern technologies in production.
