An event dedicated to the upcoming national referendum was held in Almalyk

Today, a promotional event was held at the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture dedicated to the upcoming national referendum on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, which will take place on 30 April 2023.

This event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Almalyk MMC JSC, Senator Abdulla Khursanov, Head of Almalyk Town Administration Kobil Khamdamov, the representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Doctor of Law, teacher of the Tashkent State Law University Guzalkhon Akhmedova, the heads of enterprises and organizations of the town, the senior officials of the plant, as well as the representatives of the public.

In his speech, Abdulla Khursanov noted that as a result of the large-scale reforms being carried out in our country, great opportunities are being created for citizens. He also specifically focused on the investment projects being implemented at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, which implementation creates new jobs. In his speech, A. Khursanov emphasized the important role of the referendum in the socio-political life of a renewed Uzbekistan

The responsible persons told what the changes had been made to the updated Constitution, about the essence and significance of the referendum, and explained its difference from elections. Guzalkhon Akhmedova: “The draft Constitutional Law introduces 27 new articles into the current Constitution, the number of which thereby increases from 128 to 155, the existing 275 norms of the Constitution have reached 434, that is, the current Constitution has been updated by 65%.”

It was noted at the event that the updated Constitution will serve as an important legal basis for the comprehensive regulation of all aspects of the life of our society and the democratic development of our country. The new norms included in the draft Constitutional Law will contribute to the development of all areas, including a more efficient organization of state power.

During the event, responsible officials called on everyone to take an active part in the referendum scheduled for April 30.
