Occupational safety: no room for complacency

An extended meeting on occupational health and safety performance in 2025 was recently held at the copper concentrator. It was attended by the Complex management, chief specialists, shop managers, engineering and technical workers, representatives of the workforce and the trade union committee.

The meeting was chaired by the chief engineer of the concentrator, Alisher Akhmadaliev. During the meeting, critical reports were heard from the head of the Occupational Health and Safety Department of the Copper Concentrator, Mukhammadjon Turgunov, and the head of the production control sector, Nasrulla Ergashev. The reports provided a detailed analysis of the state of occupational health and safety in the workshops as of 2025, and also examined the deficiencies identified during the third stage of the three-stage monitoring.

Particular attention was paid to the misjudgements and omissions in the work of responsible officials. Each identified incident was investigated, and the chief engineer gave specific instructions to address the deficiencies and prevent similar incidents in the future.

During the event, the chairman of the trade union committee of the concentrator, Ulugbek Alimov, emphasized the need to improve the effectiveness of occupational safety representatives this year. He noted that they should be provided with all the necessary conditions for full-fledged activities, and the most active representatives will be encouraged.

It was particularly emphasized that protection of lives and health of workers is an absolute priority. Creation of safe working conditions is the shared responsibility of everyone, from the managers to the specialized personnel.
