Recently, a meeting was held at the Central Repair and Mechanical Plant chaired by S. Juraev, Head of the Occupational Safety Department of the Central Office of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

The topic of the meeting was increasing the effectiveness of preventive measures for occupational health and industrial safety at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

The event was attended by the specialists in occupational health, safety and industrial control from various structural divisions of the plant.

The participants discussed the results of preventive work for the first five months of this year, as well as the causes of the accident that occurred at the copper Concentrator plant.

They also considered measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and the tasks set by the Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC at the staff meeting on June 2, 2025, aimed at increasing the efficiency of work in the field of occupational health and safety and reducing the level of industrial injuries. Additional measures to improve the quality of medical examinations of employees were also discussed. During the reporting period, eight accidents were registered in the structural divisions of the plant. An increase in the injury rate was noted in the Angren and Chadak mine administrations, as well as at the copper Concentrator plant.

It was noted that the third level of three-stage control over the state of labor protection, as well as targeted and unscheduled inspections carried out in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the organization of work on labor protection in JSC Almalyk MMC", in the structural divisions of the plant are not carried out in the established manner.

In particular, based on the results of inspections in such divisions as the Kalmakyr mine administration, the Chadak and Khandiza mine administrations, the mine construction department, the lime plant, the copper concentrating plant, the copper smelter, Olmalikmetallurgkurilish trust and the power grid department, the number of issued orders and acts was insufficient.

At the same time, the work of the occupational safety departments in such divisions as the automobile and technological transport departments, the zinc plant and the Central Research and Development Plant was assessed positively. Their organization of work was recognized as systematic and effective.

In order to increase the efficiency of the three-stage control of labor protection, the corresponding instructions were given to specialists, and the task was set to intensify work on preventing accidents and increase its effectiveness compared to the previous period.

It was also instructed to organize high-quality retraining of employees on labor protection and industrial safety issues - as part of the implementation of the instructions of the chairman of the board of the Complex.

Deputy Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Labor Protection and Safety M. Turgunov made a report in which he spoke in detail about the details and primary causes of the accident at the enterprise.

Following the meeting, specific instructions were given to the labor protection and industrial safety department of the central office, the production control bureau, as well as to the heads and specialized specialists of the structural divisions – with the aim of further improving the labor protection system and preventing industrial injuries.
