+998 71 619 23 33Dear workers and veterans of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, please accept our most sincere congratulations on your professional holiday – Mining and Metallurgical Industry Workers’ Day of Uzbekistan!
This profession unites people of strong character, high responsibility and true dedication to their work - all those who work in quarries and mines, in processing plants and metallurgical production, in repair, energy, transport departments, laboratories and engineering services.
It is your dedicated work that ensures the sustainable operation of one of the largest mining and metallurgical plants in the country and Central Asia. Today, AMMC is confidently reaching an important stage in its development. The Complex is implementing large-scale investment projects, modernizing existing production facilities, introducing modern technologies and artificial intelligence, and expanding its advanced processing capabilities. All of this allows us to strengthen Uzbekistan’s industrial potential, improve production efficiency, and ensure sustainable economic growth.
One of the major achievements of this year was the launch of Copper Concentrator No. 3 – the largest project of recent years, which opened a new page in the history of the domestic mining and metallurgical industry.
It is symbolic that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan attended the opening ceremony. I would especially like to note that throughout the entire implementation of the investment project to develop the Yoshlik I deposit, which became the basis for the construction of new enrichment plants and a metallurgical complex, Shavkat Miromonovich provided comprehensive support to ensure the speedy implementation of these plans. This attention was a high assessment of the work of the thousands-strong AMMC team, recognition of their contribution to the country’s economic development, and confidence in their professionalism.
During the grand opening of Copper Concentrator-3, the head of state noted the strategic importance of the projects being implemented, expressed confidence in the team’s potential, and emphasized the importance of further developing a modern industrial base. This was not only a great honor but also a great responsibility for all of us. But I am confident that our hard work and unity in achieving our goals will enable us to successfully fulfill all the tasks assigned to us. And the first results are already in sight: as of May 10, the plant processed 2 million tons of ore and produced over 30,000 tons of copper concentrate. For a plant that has been operating for less than two months, this is a huge step toward reaching its design capacity.
Today, AMMC is more than just an industrial enterprise. It’s a powerful production complex, whose viability is ensured by a team of highly qualified specialists. One striking example of this is the gold recovery plant at the Kauldy mine, built and equipped by AMMC, which we are commissioning during these holidays. Thanks to your efforts, raw material processing volumes are increasing, copper cathode production is increasing, the localization program is expanding, and the country’s export position is strengthening.
The implementation of major investment projects also demonstrates the high level of trust international partners and investors have in the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and the country's industrial potential.
This will be further supported by the recently received Copper Mark and Molybdenum Mark certificates from the International Copper Association’s Copper Mark organization. These certificates will enable the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex to ensure the competitiveness of its copper and molybdenum products in the European market.
We are proud to say that our plant was the first enterprise in the CIS to receive these certificates. During the international audit, our production facility was assessed against 32 criteria and received a positive assessment across all areas.
Today, while ensuring we meet our projected targets, we are simultaneously shaping the Complex future, laying a strong foundation for future generations. Work is underway on new projects, including the construction of Copper Concentrator-4 and the creation of a modern, next-generation copper complex that meets international technological standards.
With the comprehensive development of production, special attention is paid to personnel training. Today, AMMC is not only expanding production but also creating a new school of specialists who will work in the enterprises of the future. Modern technologies, digitalization, automation elements, and intelligent control systems are increasingly being incorporated into production processes and personnel training.
To this end, the plant is developing partnerships with leading educational and scientific centers, implementing modern international training programs, and supporting young professionals. The continuity of generations - the experience of veterans, the professionalism of employees, and the energy of young people - plays a key role. This is the key to confidence in the future of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. The plant traditionally hosts meetings of the three generations, which once again emphasize that the strength of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex lies in its people, its respect for work, and the unity of professional traditions passed on by veterans to young professionals.
It’s worth noting that the results of production activities directly impact the social sphere. The plant's development allows it to implement social programs, support employees and their families, create new jobs, strengthen social infrastructure, and develop health and children’s programs, including organization of summer vacations for employees’ children and construction of social facilities. For example, the summer health season will soon begin at five children’s health centers at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, and a new boarding house in the Zaamin district is ready to welcome vacationers. A great deal of attention is being paid to the town infrastructure, transforming its appearance, reconstructing social facilities, and constructing new ones. But Almalyk isn’t the only city under the Complex responsibility. Recently, we have completed the reconstruction and complete replacement of the equipment at a special boarding school in Syrdarya and the Palace of Culture in Angren.
Overall, AMMC activities extend far beyond the production site. Systematic work is underway to improve energy efficiency, implement environmentally responsible technologies, reduce environmental impact, and develop green economy principles. Particular attention is paid to the advanced processing of raw materials and the rational use of resources. I would also like to highlight our team's participation in the national projects “Yashil Makon” and “Green Belt”. In a short period of time, millions of tree and shrub saplings and flower seedlings have been planted. Gardens and poplar groves are already being established, designed to improve the environmental situation in the region. The city streets, assigned to the structural units responsible for planting and tending flowers, have become more beautiful and ornamental.
All these achievements are thanks to you: the team of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC! Thanks to your work, future prospects are becoming possible and the foundation for future generations is being laid.
A special thank you to our veterans. Your hard work, experience, and dedication to your profession have become the foundation of the plant's current achievements and a role model for the young people joining the workforce.
Dear colleagues!
Today, we face ambitious and challenging tasks. But we have the most important things in common: a strong team, rich traditions, modern technology, government support, and self-confidence.
I am confident that, thanks to your professionalism, responsibility, and dedication, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex will continue to confidently develop, making a worthy contribution to strengthening the country's economy and improving the well-being of the people of Uzbekistan.
With all my heart, I wish you and your families good health, prosperity, peace, new work successes and confidence in the future!
Happy holiday to you - Happy Mining and Metallurgical Industry Workers’ Day!
Abdulla KHURSANOV,
Chairman of Board of JSC “Almalyk MMC”, Senator
