On May 9, we celebrate Remembrance and Honor Day, established in honor of the memory of our compatriots who, over the centuries, heroically and selflessly defended our native land, its freedom and independence, and the peaceful life of our people.

We address with sincere warmth the war veterans – people of great fortitude, courage and devotion to their land. Their feat will forever remain a moral compass, a measure of responsibility to the past and the future. We also honor with special respect our veterans of labor - those who, during the peacetime years, through their daily, selfless labor, created the industrial and economic foundation of the country, ensuring its development and sustainability.

For the team of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, these words have special, living meaning. The destinies of people whose names we will carefully preserve in the history of the enterprise, in family memories, in respect for elders and in the attitude to work, an example in which they serve us today stand for it. It is precisely on the honest work, responsibility and mutual support they laid down that our common work is based today.

This plays an important role in mobilizing our forces to ensure a large-scale expansion of the Complex production capacity, including through the construction of the 3rd and 4th copper concentrators with a capacity of 60 million tons of ore each, and a new metallurgical complex with a capacity of 300 thousand tons of copper cathode, as determined by the President of the Republic, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Their memory lives not only in books, films and monuments - it is in our families, in our deeds, in how we treat each other and our homeland. And it is especially important that the younger generation not only knows this history, but also feels it, and understands the value of peace, harmony, and human dignity. This is facilitated by the “Meetings of Three Generations” that are actively held today, during which the older generation wholeheartedly passes on their knowledge, experience, and memories to the younger generation, thereby ensuring a connection between generations and laying the foundation for our future.

Today, when the world is facing serious challenges and instability, when the world map is covered with flashes of military action, it is especially clear how fragile and valuable peace is. In these circumstances, our country’s consistent course towards strengthening good-neighbourliness, mutual respect and cooperation is of particular importance. Uzbekistan advocates for peaceful development, supports initiatives aimed at dialogue and stability, and contributes to strengthening trust and security in the region.

Our shared duty is to carefully preserve the memory of the heroism of older generations, and to affirm this continuity in our daily work, in our studies, and in specific actions - calmly, responsibly, and with an understanding of the significance and responsibility of our work.

May 9 is a day of honoring a person, which fills our hearts with special meaning. This is a time when people visit their loved ones and pay respect to the elderly. This is a time when we remember those who laid the foundations of professionalism, were there in moments of grief and joy, supported, and gave us a start in life. Remembering them with a kind word, visiting, and checking in – these are the few ways we can thank them today for those who, at the cost of their own lives, gave us the opportunity to live under a peaceful sky, build a future, raise children, succeed in our profession, become a professional, and love the work to which we dedicate our lives.

A deep bow to everyone who made our calm, prospect-filled life possible. We will continue to cherish the memory of the heroism of older generations and, through our actions and our work, confirm this continuity, strengthening peace, harmony, and creativity in society.

And may every home be filled with peace, warmth and confidence in the future! Let the memory of the heroism and creative work of representatives of past generations unite us, give us strength and help us move forward!
