While the attention of millions of football fans around the world is riveted on the World Cup matches, equally vibrant and exciting football battles are unfolding on the fields of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. The AMMC youth mini-football tournament provided participants and fans with many spectacular and unforgettable moments.

The traditional tournament “AMMC Chairman Cup”, timed to coincide with Youth Day, concluded on June 29. 30 teams representing the Complex structural divisions competed for the main trophy of the competition. Depending on the entry list, they were divided into two leagues.

The match for third place in the Second League saw teams from the training center and the Kauldy mine administration meet. The miners gained the initiative in the game from the very first minutes and did not leave their opponents with a single chance, sending eight unanswered goals into their net. A convincing 8:0 victory brought the mining administration team bronze medals in the tournament. In the Second League final, where teams from auxiliary units competed, teams from the Production Automation Department and the Electrical Networks Department competed for the championship title. The match was a tense one, but the PAD team won with a score of 2:1, becoming the winner of the Second League.

In the First League, which united the main production divisions of the plant, the teams of the Kalmakyr mine administration and the specialized repair works department met in the match for third place. In a goal-rich match, the miners demonstrated a clear advantage and won a confident 7:3 victory, taking bronze.

The main event of the tournament was the First League final, in which the teams of the Copper Concentrator and Copper Concentrator-3 met. In a tense and uncompromising match, the Copper Concentrator team demonstrated high skill and confidently defeated their opponent with a score of 2:0, becoming the winner of the AMMC Chairman Cup.

The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Board of “Almalyk MMC” JSC Saadi Shermatov and Doniyor Kayumov. In their speeches, they pointed out that the Complex management consistently places great emphasis on support of young people, creation of all the necessary conditions for development of their potential, engagement in sports, and pursuance of an active lifestyle. The leaders congratulated the tournament participants on their outstanding performances and the winners on their well-deserved awards. Following the competition, the winners and prizers teams were awarded medals and the main trophy of the tournament. In addition, the best players received individual awards in the following categories.

Second League;

“Best Goalkeeper” - Yuriy Umarov (PAD);

“Best Player” - Botir Saydullaev (END);

“Best Defender” - Eldor Saidov (Kauldy Mine Administration).

First League:

“Best Player” - Ilkhom Nabiev (Copper Concentrator);

“Best Forward” – Rustam Islomov (Kalmakyr mine administration);

“Best Goalkeeper” - Shakhzod Mazakirov (Copper Concentrator-3).

Such sporting competitions not only help to strengthen the physical fitness of the Complex young workers, but also foster team spirit, determination, and a drive for new achievements in both sports and professional activities.
