Central Analytical Laboratory

The Central Analytical Laboratory was created from the local workshop laboratories of the plant, the initial task of which was to determine the technological products.

As an independent structural unit, the Central Analytical Laboratory (CAL) of JSC “Almalyk MMC” was organized in 1967.

Every year, with the expansion of the material and raw material base and the sustainable development of the plant's production capacities, the goals and objectives of the central analytical laboratory changed.

Currently, the central analytical laboratory consists of 9 departments located in the structural divisions of the plant, namely:

  • department of assay analysis and chemical-analytical works;
  • department of physical and chemical methods of analysis and methodical work;
  • department for research and environmental protection;
  • department of non-destructive testing;
  • department of analytical control of the Research and Production Association for Production of Rare Metals and Hard Alloys;
  • department of analytical control of the Angren Pipe Plant;
  • department of Assay and Analytical Control of the Chadak Mine Administration;
  • department of Assay and Analytical Control of the Angren Mine Administration;
  • department of assay and analytical control of "Kauldy" Mine Administration.

Type of activity:

The purpose of work of the Central Analytical Laboratory is to provide a guarantee to the Customer of a high level of test quality through the development of modern methods of analysis, modernization of the instrumentation fleet, rational placement of personnel and continuous staff development.

The laboratory ensures the performance of all works on the analysis of the chemical composition of minerals, which determines the direction of mining operations in mines, the quality of technological processes in factories and plants, the quality of raw materials and auxiliary materials, and the compliance with the requirements of standards for all finished products manufactured by the plant. Performs control of workplaces, as well as instrumental measurements of noise levels, vibration, emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, carries out ultrasonic testing and flaw detection of metal structures.

More than a thousand samples are analyzed daily in the CAL. In the performance of such a wide range of various works, international standards and methods for performing measurements, approved in the prescribed manner, are used.

CAL has successfully passed the approval procedure for technical competence, according to the OzDSt 3410 standard "General requirements for technical competence for testing laboratories" in the Uzbek Accreditation body.

During the years of independence, atomic absorption, optical emission with spark and arc excitation of the spectrum, optical emission with inductively coupled plasma and X-ray spectral fluorescence methods of analysis have been developed, implemented and successfully used in the CAL. Analytical equipment of well-known world companies is used: PerkinElmer, Mettler Toledo, Sartoruos, SPECTRO, LECO, ELTRA and many others.

High instrumentation level, qualified personnel of workers and engineering and technical workers of the laboratory allow the team of analysts to successfully cope with all the tasks associated with the development prospects, expansion of the range and increasing requirements for finished products manufactured by the plant.

The CAL team regularly confirms its competence in the framework of testing in the system of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) for the status of "Good Delivery".

The laboratory has repeatedly passed proficiency testing through comparative tests and certification of interstate standard samples of gold, copper, zinc, silver.

The CAL of JSC "Almalyk MMC" is a reliable partner for any division of the plant for the implementation of priorities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of work.
