On October 15, 2024, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC), where he launched the construction of the copper concentrator-4.

At the moment, construction work has already begun, and explanatory events dedicated to the significance of this investment project are being held in nearby mahallas.

On February 11, 2025, a meeting of local residents with representatives of the Almalyk Khokimiyat and the AMMC was held in the mahalla named after Abdulla Kadyri. Members of the “Mahalla Seven” and a deputy of the local Kengash also took part in it.

Deputy Head of the Project Office for the Implementation of the Investment Project “Development of the “Yoshlik I Deposit” Aziz Muratov presented detailed information about the factory under construction.

The demand for copper on the world market is constantly growing, and the launch of the new factory will significantly increase its production volumes in our country. This will create conditions for the production of new types of copper products. After the completion of construction, more than 3,000 new jobs will appear. The factory will process 60 million tons of ore annually and produce over 800 thousand tons of copper concentrate. Preparatory work on the project is currently underway, said A. Muratov.

A distinctive feature of the future enterprise will be the use of modern technologies that ensure environmental safety and energy efficiency of production.

Currently, excavation work is actively underway at the construction site. At the first stage, the contractor will have to perform 4,978 thousand cubic meters of excavation work, including 3,279 thousand cubic meters of soil excavation and 1,699 thousand cubic meters of embankment. Drilling and blasting work in the amount of 1,933 thousand cubic meters is planned. The construction process will involve 113 units of various equipment: dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers and drilling rigs.

At the meeting, the complex representatives spoke about the importance of the project for the development of our city and its positive impact on the environmental situation in the region.

Residents of the mahalla were able to ask questions of interest to them and receive detailed answers from specialists.
