+998 71 619 23 33On August 5, a meeting between Senator Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of “Almalyk MMC” JSC, and activist women and youth of the enterprise was held at the engineering school of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
Opening the meeting, which was held in the format of an open and sincere dialogue, the Complex director, Senator Abdulla Khursanov, congratulated the participants on the main holiday of our people – the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan independence. He detailed the large-scale transformations underway in the country in recent years, and in particular at the Complex. He specifically emphasized that support of women and youth is currently one of the priority areas of state policy, including in the mining and metallurgy industry.
In his speech, he also noted that, despite the various conflicts and contradictions occurring today in the global political arena, our country, under the leadership of the President, is confidently moving along the path of development, and Uzbekistan is becoming stronger and more dynamic every day.
“Today, as a director, I am pleased and proud of how actively the women of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex demonstrate their skills in all areas of work, putting forward ideas that are relevant and important for production,” noted Abdulla Khursanov. “The intellectual potential and responsibility of women have become one of the most important drivers of our Complex development. Based on my own observations, I can say for sure: Complex today is no longer the same plant it was 10 years ago. AMMC has achieved such a prominent position in the global mining industry that even the largest international companies, when planning to purchase equipment, first study our experience. They follow the principle: “If AMMC purchased this product, it means the Complex specialists chose the best.” Our women, who work selflessly at the company, also make a significant contribution to creation of such an atmosphere of global trust.
In recent years, the Complex staff has achieved significant technological success. The launch of Copper Concentrator No. 3 and the Kauldy gold recovery plant was a significant event not only for AMMC, but for the entire country. It is particularly important that these production capacities – from the design to construction – were implemented by the Complex own efforts.
The reconstruction of the Copper Concentrator was also performed by our own forces. Previously, expensive natural gas was used to dry wet concentrate, but the introduction of a new system based on press filters, removed this need. The innovation enabled to reduce production costs and generate additional income. All funds received are applied for the implementation of new strategic projects. This is confirmed by the construction of a new copper smelting complex, which meets modern environmental requirements and is equipped with advanced technologies, as well as the implementation of the Copper Concentrator-4 project.
These transformations at the Complex are also recognized at the international level. FLSmidth Vice President Peter James Flanagan noted: “There used to be a saying among industrialists: if you want to see the copper industry, go to Chile. Now I can confidently say: come to Uzbekistan.” These words are a high assessment of the work of the entire team, including the women who work day and night for the benefit of the company.
The main difference between our Complex and many foreign companies is that the entire production cycle - from ore mining to the production of precious metals and finished products - is concentrated within a single enterprise. The Copper Cluster has become a practical embodiment of this approach: production of high-tech microchips, ready-made air conditioners, cable and wire products has already been established in Angren and Akhangaran.
To manage the complex technologies being implemented at new production facilities, the Complex requires highly qualified specialists. This is why the Engineering School was created based on the educational program of the German company “Aurubis”. It is especially gratifying that the goal-oriented and knowledge-seeking women studying here could, in the near future, become one of the key forces ensuring the Complex economic and technological independence.”
The meeting featured presentations from the company’s leading female employees, who not only work in various departments but also engage in scientific research, develop efficiency suggestions, and continue their professional education.
Participants were also presented with projects aimed at modernization of production, its digital transformation, and development of education system. In particular, Ozoda Djaynakova, a resource specialist at Preschool Educational Organization No. 31 of the Department of Social Facilities, presented a project on the application of artificial intelligence technologies in the educational process and interactive learning for children.
Another employee of the social facilities department, Gavkhar Djuraeva, spoke in detail about the “OKMK Kids” project.
Sevara Khamroeva, inspector of enrichment products at the Copper Concentrator-3 of the Technical Control Service, presented the results of a scientific study on the topic “Creation of a new technology for the separation of copper and associated components”. The scientific developments of the Training Center’s industrial training master, researcher Madina Saidirakhimova, dedicated to zinc production technology, also attracted great interest.
Sarvinoz Turganbaeva, a 1st category engineer at the Industrial Rail Transport Department, analyzed the effectiveness of new projects being implemented in production.
Nilufar Rozikulova, a consultant at the project office for digital transformation and ERP implementation, launched the “Suggestion Bank” initiative to implement artificial intelligence in production processes. In addition, her proposals to increase the number of full-time AI specialists and exchange experience with leading companies in the industry were supported.
To improve employees’ language skills, the worker of the Copper Concentrator Ziyoda Aymatova proposed a simple and effective method for teaching English directly to work teams.
Mukhlisa Saidalieva, a specialist in the Personnel Training and Retraining Department, discussed the development of career policies for women in the mining and geological sectors.
Durdona Esonboeva, a member of the “AMMC-Europe” Women’s Leadership Club and a graduate student at the Advanced Engineering School, and activists from the “Pearls of the Plant” club also spoke at the meeting, sharing their social initiatives.
Abdulla Khursanov noted the importance of the initiatives and projects put forward by the Complex activist women and emphasized the need for their further promotion and commercialization. He also assured that the company management will continue to support such initiatives.
At the end of the meeting, an active dialogue took place between the Complex management and the participants, during which they were able to ask questions that interested them.
Many of the presented innovative projects and efficiency suggestions received the support of the Complex director. For each of them, recommendations were given for further practical implementation.
For reference: as of August 1, 2026, the Complex workforce was 35,422 people, 7,843 of whom were women. 203 women hold managerial positions. Among the women working at the enterprise, 1,225 have higher education, and 3 have academic degrees and are engaged in scientific activities.
It’s worth noting that such meetings play a crucial role in unlocking the most valuable resource of the AMMC - a human potential, and, above all, the potential of women, their professional knowledge, initiative, and drive for development.
