Carrying out underground mine capital works, commissioning underground facilities and surface buildings included in investment projects. Ensuring the construction of new underground mines and facilities, and implementing modern technologies in mining operations.
History of the Mine Construction Administration (MCA):
In March 2013, to fill the staff table of the Angren underground site, employees of the “Samarchuk” section of the Angren Mining Administration were transferred according to Order No. 120 of “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC” dated 1 March 2013. The Angren underground site began mine capital and preparatory works at the No. 6a stope of the “Samarchuk” section in April 2013.
In July 2013, after the workforce was fully assembled and trained, works on the ventilation shaft of the Almalyk underground site of the Kauldy Mine began.
In November 2013, the remaining works on the ventilation shaft of the Almalyk underground site were transferred to the Kauldy Mine, and construction of the Kayragach Mine underground site commenced.
In June 2015, to accelerate construction of the Kayragach Mine, it was decided to carry out mine capital works at the No. 3 stope of the Angren underground site. This allowed the advancement of mine capital drifts in the upper horizons of the Kayragach Mine, enabling ore reserves to be accessed. In 2016, the mine was handed over to the Angren Mining Administration for extraction.
Alongside capital works, the MCA carried out preparatory drifts to extract ore reserves at the “Samarchuk” section and Kayragach Mine.
On 20 August 2015, following a technical meeting decision of “Almalyk MMC,” to accelerate the commissioning of the “Samarchuk” section based on the existing Kizil-Alma Mine, inclines at +1045m and +985m horizons were started. From September 2015, the MCA began inclined transport drift works. Currently, mine capital and preparatory works along the +1045m and +985m horizons have been completed.
The +1045m horizon was handed over to the Angren Mining Administration according to the Almalyk MMC commission report dated 30 September 2021.
Current Status:
The MCA is finalizing preparations to hand over ore reserves opened and prepared at the +985m horizon to the Angren Mining Administration for further extraction.
To expand Uzbekistan’s resource base for precious metal ores, since 2016 the MCA has conducted 2,408 m of exploration drifts in the “Kizil-Almasoy” ore field at the Chumauk II and Tuyachavul sites. Currently, ore reserves at the “Chumauk II” site have been confirmed by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Geology and handed over to Almalyk MMC. Since 2022, the MCA has been opening the upper parts of the No. 1 and No. 1a ore bodies at the Chumauk II site for future extraction by the Angren Mining Administration.
Overall, the MCA has commissioned the Kayragach Mine (2016), the 6a stope and +1045m horizons at the “Samarchuk” section, and opened upper horizons (+1148m – +1200m) of the No.3 ore body at the “Samarchuk” section for extraction. The +985m horizon of the “Samarchuk” section is being finalized for handover to the Angren Mining Administration. Additionally, in the current year, MCA will begin mine capital works at the +925m horizon of the “Samarchuk” Mine.
From 2013 to 2021, the Mine Construction Administration completed a total of 19,208.81 m of mine drifts, including 10,737.81 m of mine capital works at the Kayragach Mine and “Samarchuk” section, 6,063 m of preparatory drifts at the “Samarchuk” and Mejdurech’e sections, as well as 2,408 m of exploration drifts at the Tuyachavul and Chumauk II sites.
