A fully integrated automation system is under implementation at CCP-3

19 September 2024, 9:15 537

Within the framework of the implementation of the 1st stage of the investment project of the development of the "Yoshlik 1" mine on the basis of the mines of "Almalyk MMC" JSC, the installation of technological equipment is also being carried out in parallel with the construction of the 3rd copper enrichment plant.

It is worth noting that all technological units of the new factory are controlled automatically from the central dispatch center. In particular, the PCS7 (Process Control System 7) process control system built according to the "fully integrated automation" concept of Siemens is being implemented. This system, used in the world's largest industrial enterprises, specializes in the automation of large-scale technological processes. It works in automatic mode based on the data received from a total of more than 16,000 measuring devices in the factory. At the same time, the system also has archive servers that continuously record every parameter of all production stages. This allows for process analysis and evaluation among large volumes of data, quickly and without the use of paper reports. For example, equipment status, bearing temperature, engine power parameters from a month or a year ago are now stored in this system without data loss. Importantly, this centralized system, which is being installed at the 3rd copper enrichment plant, is currently the only one in the Central Asian region.

Akmaljon Jamoliddinov, the head of the programming sector of the 3rd copper enrichment plant, said that modern equipment is installed in the control room, which covers the complete control of the process from the arrival of the ore from the mine to processing. Dispatchers will have the opportunity to observe and monitor the technological process online, give the necessary commands to the upcoming changes and save it automatically. Most importantly, this system ensures high labor efficiency.

A team of qualified specialists headed by Odil Fayzullayev, head of the automated control systems service of the 3rd copper enrichment plant, plans to launch a single system for monitoring and analyzing the entire factory, as well as individual technological equipment, in the coming days. This PI vision system, which is used in large industrial enterprises of foreign countries, was produced by the AVEVA company. Through it, it is possible to collect separate control systems, such as energy accounting, water supply, auxiliary management, into a single monitor. Determining how much energy the equipment consumes when working at a certain capacity, calculating the amount of resources such as ore, water, oil, etc. that go to it, helps to record the forecast indicators necessary for their operation in the future. This, in turn, minimizes potential downtime in the process. As a result, the production efficiency of the factory increases, and the useful life of the devices is extended.
