The zinc plant is one of the main divisions of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, and is the only enterprise in our Republic for the production of metal, zinc and cadmium.

In 2022, within the framework of the program of technical and technological rearmament of this enterprise, the metal structures of the 17th thickener of the plant were cleaned of corrosion, painting and roofing, electrical energy supply system, aspirating and ventilation devices have been modernized, in the present day, major repair works were completed in the reactors of the ashes classification department, and SRF-15 sleeve filters with impulse blowing were put into operation at full capacity.This new equipment is considered a device that captures solid volatile and aerosol dusts generated during technological and preparation operations with high efficiency. The effectiveness of this aspiration system is distinguished by the high ability to increase the number of sections by multiplying, expand the filtering area, and sharply reduce the dust load on its individual elements. The working capacity of one section of the system is from 7500 to 1500 m³ of dust retention. The most important advantages of the new device are the high degree of purification, universality, the possibility of increasing the number of sections, cleaning the air from small, medium and large impurities, high reliability and long service life. Even in the presence of fine dispersed dust in the working environment, the cleaning rate of the sleeve filter is 99%.

New devices are important not only for improving the air environment in workplaces, but also for environmental protection and attracting the recycling of useful components that leave the atmosphere with dust. The experience and skill of the mill machinist Olimjon Omonboev was of great importance when these new equipments were put into operation. It is known that the Selective Smelting Workshop, headed by Bakhrom Ishmurodov, is equipped with 22 reactors and 18 thickeners, reprocesses zinc ashes and velsokis, and prepares acidic solutions used in the extraction of metallic zinc. As a result of the technical and technological rearmament work carried out in the department for separating ashes into classes, department for neutral selective melting of ashes and thickening of pulp, department for processing velsokis, department for cleaning neutral solutions from copper and cadmium, department for filtration of lower flows of thickeners with frames, vacuum filters, it was possible to sharply increase the production indicators of the workshop in recent years. Only in April, 8,248 tons of metallic zinc were produced, the set plan was fulfilled with a surplus. A. Nematov, master of the 5th technological shift, electrician R. Pardaliev, hydrometallurgist-apparatus engineers N. Djabborova and A. Inomova contributed to such important results.

Fulfillment of production indicators of zinc metal, cadmium, sulfuric acid and zinc vitriol for the needs of Khondiza Mining Department by the second metallurgical enterprise of JSC "Almalyk KMK" depends on the timely delivery and quality of imported sulphide concentrates, as well as on the joint efforts of the enterprise's labor team and the introduction of new technologies, modern equipment and facilities. The continuous supply of technological materials and the work being carried out within the program of stabilization of production is the reason for the team of the enterprise in progressing on the way to the intended goals.
