Renewable energy sources are being introduced at AMMC
In recent years, Uzbekistan has been paying special attention to the use of renewable environmentally friendly energy sources such as solar and wind.
In particular, decisive steps have been taken at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex to provide departments with access to inexpensive, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources. Energy-saving technologies are being introduced and significant results are being achieved in this area.
In particular, solar panels of class A with a total capacity of 10 MW are currently installed in more than 50 structural divisions and social facilities of the complex. The electricity generated by these panels is used to meet the own needs of the complex, where the efficiency is 21.3%.
For the information: solar power plants with a capacity of 8,062 kW are installed at the production facilities of AMMC (in the Tashkent region - 7,811 kW, in Samarkand (Ingichkinskoye field) - 345 kW, in Namangan - 375 kW, in Surkhandarya - 510 kW), at social facilities - 979 kW.
Large-scale activities to introduce renewable energy sources are bearing fruit. Thus, in January-June of this year, about 1 million kWh of electricity was generated, and the consumption of 300 thousand cubic meters of natural gas was saved. By the end of this year, another 1.6 million kWh of electricity will be generated.
