In accordance with a number of Resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at the development of football, the creation of football academies is provided for in all regions of our country.

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant pays special attention to football. Currently, the football school of PFC “OKMK” is being gradually transformed into a football academy. For this purpose, opportunities and necessary conditions are created for young athletes.

An example is the new football field, which opened on the eve of the Day of Mining and Metallurgical Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, May 17.

The opening ceremony was attended by the chairman of the board of JSC "Almalyk MMC", the president of the professional football club "OKMK" Abdulla Khursanov, the Director of PFC "OKMK" Bakhodir Mirzaev, the legendary football player, honored coach of Uzbekistan Mirjalol Kasymov, highly qualified specialist and coach Denis Khumutov, football fans and representatives of the public.

For reference: the dimensions of the new artificial turf field are 52x32 meters. Children aged 6 to 10 years will train on this field.

Today, more than 500 children study at the children's and youth football school of PFC "OKMK". By September 2024, it is planned to increase this figure to 1,000 people. To this end, two more fields will soon be put into operation – one with artificial turf and the other with natural grass measuring 105x68, which will create an opportunity for even more young athletes to practice.

Thanks to the initiative of the management of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, in the next two months the “Vesna” Hotel will be reconstructed and re-equipped to accommodate 120 students of the Academy. In addition, it is planned to put into operation two more small training grounds for children from 6 to 12 years old.

It is worth noting that branches of the Academy have also been created in neighboring districts and towns – these are Akhangaran, Buka, Piskent districts, as well as the towns of Angren, Nurafshan and Krasnogorsk of Parkent district.

On June 1, International Children's Day, the Academy of the professional football club "OKMK" will hold its first competition. All children's football teams of the Tashkent region will take part in it.

Now, having received Academy status, pupils of the “OKMK” football club will be able to regularly take part in international competitions and tournaments held in Uzbekistan.
