On October 15 of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the “Yoshlik 1” mine and the 3rd copper concentrator plant under construction on its base during his visit to the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
The foundation stone for the construction of the factory was laid on July 29, 2021. Today, the construction work continues at a rapid pace. This factory will have the capacity to process 60 million tons of ore per year. Through this, 917 thousand tons of copper and 1.5 thousand tons of molybdenum concentrates are produced per year.
The land area chosen for the construction of the factory is so important that the construction of the factory in a step-by-step (cascade) style allows for some savings in electricity consumption.
Three-stage grinding and two-stage rolling processes are carried out in the production processes of the factory.
FALCON graviconcentrators from Serbia are installed in the smelting and flotation body to extract free gold, and WEIR MINERALS hydrocyclones from Great Britain are installed to separate the ore into classes, which serve to carry out the technology with high quality.
Also, the flotation facility consists of 6 lines, and the main flotation processes are carried out using METSO OUTOTEC TC-300, 50, 20 flotation machines. It is worth mentioning that pearl mills, which are new to AMMC, play a unique role in extracting minerals from ore.
Condensation processes 6 Ø 17-meter condensers and after filtering processes, copper concentrate with a moisture content of up to 10% is delivered to copper smelting processes.
The new factory uses highly efficient, environmentally safe and cost-effective technologies.
At the meeting with the head of our state, we set a number of tasks for ourselves.
Today, the need for copper products is expected to increase by 40% by 2030, due to the rapid development of the "green economy", electrical equipment, and the electric car industry in the world. This gives us more responsibility. Undoubtedly, the country's economic power plays an important role in the country's development and its ability to have its say in the geopolitical arena. As a result of the reforms that have been consistently carried out in our country in recent years, the priority tasks of transitioning New Uzbekistan to a new stage of development are determined during the visits of the head of state to the regions. The practical visit of the President to AMMC, in particular to the 3rd copper beneficiation factory, was another important step towards making deep structural changes in the economy, efficient use of material and labor resources, and ensuring the production of competitive products.
The implementation of such megaprojects in Almalyk, in turn, will greatly contribute to the growth of not only the city, but also the economy of our country. The visit will undoubtedly go down in history as another important event aimed at developing our national economy.
