For several years now, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex has been establishing mutually beneficial cooperation relations with number of leading foreign companies.
One of such long-term partners of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex is the Swiss company Glencore.
This company was founded in April 1974 in Bar city, Sug canton, Switzerland.
The company's operations represent mining enterprises around the world, supplying metals, minerals, petroleum products, coal, agricultural products to its customers in the automotive, metallurgical, food and energy industries.
For more than 20 years, Glencore has been cooperating with Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex on the purchase of cathode copper, zinc metal and lead-containing materials. It also delivers copper and zinc concentrates to the Complex. Glencore's share in the Complex’s total export volume is 30 percent.
A delegation of representatives of this company visited the Complex on August 30 of this year in order to develop mutual cooperation between Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex and this company in the future.
In the meeting between the management of the Complex and the representatives of the company, mutually beneficial cooperation relations in the future were discussed.
For information, it can be said that as of August 29 of this year, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex exported products worth 205.4 million dollars to the company.
In particular, copper cathode for $167.8 million, zinc metal for $21.7 million, and lead concentrate for $15.9 million were exported.
Glencore imported zinc concentrate for $35.1 million and lead-containing materials for $17.1 million.
During the discussions, the issue of ensuring the regular delivery of 58,500 tons of zinc concentrate from the Jayrem and Zarnisor mines this year was considered.
Also, tasks to be carried out in the future were agreed upon.
