NEW DORMITORY – FOR MINERS

30 January 2024, 14:3 899

In our country, the issues of protection and observance of human rights and freedoms are one of the priority areas of state policy. In particular, at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, special attention is paid to ensuring the interests of workers, as well as creating decent conditions for workers.

Our words can be confirmed by the new 200-bed dormitory for workers of the Khandiza Mine Administration of AMMC. On January 24 of this year, the opening ceremony of this facility took place.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Council of the Trade Union of AMMC Workers Abdurashid Khaidarov, Hero of Uzbekistan Saydali Rakhmonov, the Mine Administration staff and veterans.

Those in charge thanked the miners for their dedicated work and expressed their sincere wishes to those gathered. It was noted that conditions for meaningful leisure will also be created for workers here.

Construction work began in June 2023 and was completed at the end of that year. More than 5.1 billion UZS were spent on construction.

For reference: The Khandiza Mine Administration, located in the Sariasiya district of the Surkhandarya region, is one of the most important divisions of the AMMC, whose staff promptly carries out the tasks of mining and processing polymetallic ores.

Every year, 600 thousand tons of ore are mined at the Khandiza mine. The area of the underground mine is 128 hectares. The ore mined here includes metals such as zinc, copper, lead, silver and cadmium. Every day, 400 miners extract up to 1,800 tons of ore, which is sent to the processing plant.

It is worth noting that in 2023, the mine management team fulfilled the forecast for polymetallic ore production by 104.9%, and for processing – by 104.7%. Also last year, 18,387 tons of lead concentrate were exported worth 109 billion UZS.

Of course, the comprehensive support of workers will serve to further increase the productivity of not only the mine administration, but also the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
