The personnel of the Kauldy mine is meeting all forecast production targets.
In particular, for the period from January to May of this year, assignment for the ore extraction was completed by 101.0%, mining preparation work – by 102.3%, in-mine exploration operations – by 105.2%, stope and cutting operations – by 101.2%, mining of rock mass – by 102.4%, stowing operations – by 102.9%.
In addition, the forecast for ore processing was fulfilled by 101.2%, the production and shipment of flux ore - by 102.2%, the amount of gold in fluxes - 107.5%, the amount of silver in fluxes - 104.0%.
As the head of the underground section said, today work in the mine is carried out at horizons 875, 862, 856, 772, 751, 835. To ensure more efficient drilling, the Simba-102 self-propelled drilling rig was purchased this year, which reduced the amount of manual labor and increased work efficiency. The cost of production has also been reduced.
The design capacity of the Kauldy mine is designed to produce 100,000 tons of gold-bearing flux ore necessary for the metallurgical industry. The mining system for ore body No. 2 of block IV-C1 of the offshoot was modernized by the mine specialists, which gave a significant economic effect and increased labor productivity in the process of mining reserves and simplified and significantly facilitated labor-intensive processes and the work of miners as well as increased mining capacity by 20%.
Positive results have been achieved in the process of using fly ash accumulated in the ash dump of the thermal power plant as a filler during the stowing operations of the Kauldy mine. Based on experimental work, optimal compositions of filling mixtures with the addition of fly ash have been developed and are involved in production. As a result, productivity has increased, the quality of stowing work and the environmental condition had been improved due to the elimination of production waste, and a significant economic effect was achieved by saving inventory.
The use of renewable energy sources to save fuel and energy resources at our mine has been started from 2007, which meets the hot water requirements in the mine using solar collectors; as a continuation of this, a solar photovoltaic power plant was put into operation this year, generating 12 kW/h of electricity used for the needs of the mine.
As for strategic goals, in order to expand the gold ore base of the Kauldy mine, the Institute of Mineral Resources carried out research work on the topic “Calculation of gold ore reserves of the Kauldy mine and a feasibility study of the conditions of minerals during underground development”. Pursuant to the calculations carried out, the volumes of reserves in promising sites were determined. As a result, the implementation of the project for “Development of the Yuzhny-I and Yuzhny-II sections” of the Kauldy deposit is planned in the future which will increase ore production to 150-200 thousand tons.
For information: the Kauly mine was put into operation on December 27, 1977. The minerals in the mine is extracted by the underground method. The main activity of the mine is the extraction of gold-bearing quartz ore, which is shipped to the copper smelting plant and used as fluxes in metallurgical processing.
The main activity of the mine is the extraction, processing and sorting of gold-bearing quartz ore into classes I and II, used in the metallurgical industry as fluxes, and its shipment to a copper smelting plant.
