Countering corruption is a current task

19 July 2024, 10:29 1035

Combating corruption is one of the priority tasks of state policy. Corruption is a factor complicating the implementation of the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, international human rights standards that serve to ensure human rights and freedoms. The scale of corruption also has a negative impact on economic development.

Our country is taking consistent measures to implement a system of prevention and uncompromising fight against corruption based on advanced international standards. In particular, the necessary conditions have been created for effective and efficient public control over public administration by ensuring openness, publicity and transparency of the activities of state bodies and organizations, as well as accountability of officials to the population.

All this was discussed at short-term courses aimed at combating corruption in the field of public procurement and improving the skills of employees of the plant's structural divisions. The courses are based on the international standard ISO 37001:2016, which contains an international model for building an effective anti-corruption system in an organization.

The advanced training courses, organized jointly by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for Advanced Training of Lawyers under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Compliance Control Service of the Executive Office and the Training Center of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, are held at the Almalyk branch of NRTU “MISiS”.

During the classes, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency - Head of the Department for Public Relations, Work with Appeals and International Cooperation Umida Tukhtasheva spoke about effective mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption.

The courses are attended by 125 students - employees of the plant's structural divisions responsible for the anti-corruption and compliance control system.

Upon completion of the courses, students will take an exam. Those who successfully pass the test will receive the corresponding certificates.
