Focus on Women and Career

12 June 2025, 15:34 1001

In recent years, Uzbekistan has been consistently implementing reforms aimed at ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, their equal participation in the management of state and public affairs, supporting women in terms of social and legal guarantees, as well as protection from pressure and violence.

Gender equality has become part of state policy – 25 legislative acts have been adopted in this area. For the phased implementation of the Gender Strategy for 2023-2030, separate comprehensive programs of activities are approved annually.

At Almalyk MMC, such initiatives have become a good tradition. The next meeting of the community of women leaders "AMMC – Partners" was held on June 11 at the Engineering School.

At the beginning of the event, an exhibition of handicrafts created by talented employees – the members of the "Golden Hands" circle was organized.

An exposition of teaching aids developed by teachers and educators of preschool educational organizations of the plant using artificial intelligence technologies was also presented. These visual materials and didactic games help develop children's interest in learning and reveal their abilities.

The main part of the event began with a welcoming speech by the head of the AMMC representative office in Tashkent and the chairperson of the advisory council on women and gender equality, Feruza Khamidova. She spoke about the work done at the plant in the field of gender policy.

The topic of discussion was "The potential of a female leader: opportunities and barriers in a career." Ekaterina Galitsyna, the representative of KfW IPEX Bank, spoke with interesting observations and personal stories on this topic.

The meeting took place in the format of an open dialogue, filled with meaningful questions and answers.

Kamola Umaralieva, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Almalyk MMC, noted:

- Today, at the initiative of the head of our state, Uzbekistan is actively developing international cooperation, strengthening diplomatic and economic-political ties with foreign countries. All this plays a key role in ensuring the sustainable development of the country and the growth of investment attractiveness. According to her, the results of such foreign economic policy can be seen in the example of AMMC, where large investment projects are being implemented with the participation of leading foreign countries and international banks.

The creation of the community of women leaders "AMMC – Partners" within the framework of Uzbek-European cooperation has become a practical result of reforms that support the disclosure of the potential and opportunities of women in the country.

The participants of the meeting discussed issues of career growth, development of leadership qualities, difficulties and opportunities of horizontal and vertical careers. Such meetings help to strengthen the knowledge and professional skills of women at the plant, as well as increase their confidence and responsibility.

Such events and round tables will be continued in the future.
