Mining in the central quarry is in full swing

14 April 2022, 14:14 1786

The Kalmokkir deposit is the first link in the production chain of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine. The ore is mined here and loaded onto electric locomotives by mining excavators and sent to a copper concentrator for crushing.

The Kalmokkir deposit includes the upper strata, eastern and central quarries.

While the upper layer quarries are engaged in surface rock excavation, the eastern and central quarries are responsible for mining and moving rocks.

The richest minerals are located in the Central Quarry. That’s why the number of workers and technicians is much higher than in the eastern and upper quarries. Today, ores are loaded from 14 points of the central quarry. Of these, 5 are for rail transport and 9 for road transport.

About 25 130-ton BelAZ dump trucks are hauling rocks from the bottom of the deposit. 3 15-cubic-meter, 11 10-cubic-meter and Hitachi excavators were mobilized to load the ore. 7 pieces of SBSh-250 equipment are working during the drilling process.

The central quarry sends 33 000 cubic meters of ore per day to the crushing process. At the same time, it is worth noting the work of more than 230 employees working at the deposit.

According to Mansur Uralov, chief engineer of the Central Quarry, the planned task of extracting 16,500 cubic meters of ore per shift is being fulfilled.

Currently, the quarry is 350 m deep, 4,5 km long and 2,5 km wide. According to geological surveys, the quarry will be discovered and further reduced to depth of 300 meters.

Excavator drivers Barot Ochilov, Khayrulla Aldiyorov and Bakhtiyor Abdurazzakov, who have many years of experience, have made a worthy contribution to the success of the quarry team.

Drilling equipment machinists Alisher Kurolov, Shukhrat Safarov, Ebazer Ismaylov, Sayfiddin Safarov, Bunyod Turmatov’s diligence and quality of each task are the main factors in achieving high results.

The Kalmokkir Mining Administration first started mining in 1959, and to this day it is regularly carried out in excess of the forecast. Of course, the timely implementation of the plan will contribute to the stable operation of the plant’s production chain.
