Production modernization is underway

11 February 2022, 13:40 1252

Last year, modern equipment was installed in the grinding and flotation shop of the MOF as part of the implementation of the program of priority measures for the reconstruction and stabilization of the main production facilities of JSC “Almalyk MMC” for 2019-2022, developed on the basis of a decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated September 30, 2018 of the year.

Dilshod NISHANOV, the Head of the Grinding and Floatation Shop, tells about the changes that have taken place here.

- The processes of ore preparation, including grinding and classification, play a key role in the operation of subsequent processing stages, and the quality of the finished product also depends on them.

Therefore, the management of JSC "Almalyk MMC" and the MOF pays great attention not only to the replacement of morally and physically obsolete equipment, but also to the introduction of a completely new one, which has not yet been at the factory.

In July last year, at site No. 1 of the Grinding and Floatation Shop, we launched a new mill block: in addition to the existing 40 mills, mills MSHTS and MSHR 4.5x6.0 m were launched. I would like to note that there was no such equipment in our workshop yet: these mills larger in size, besides this, for the first time we started to operate equipment of Ukrainian production – Novokramatorsky Machine-building Plant (NKMZ).

The new mill block was installed to increase the design capacity of the plant: more than 2 million 150 thousand tons of ore per year will be additionally processed here, which will allow the production of 6240 tons of copper. This year, the Grinding and Floatation Shop team will have to process 28 million tons of ore, which is one million tons more than the forecast figures of the previous year.

The specialists of NKMZ carried out training of service personnel: mechanics and fitters of instrumentation and automation, as these are modern fully automated mills, all parameters of which are regulated automatically.

At five regrinding mills of section No. 1 and four regrinding mills of section No. 2, 9 sets of Chinese-made automated pump-hydrocyclone units (PHCU) were installed, which were also launched in July last year.

Highly efficient and high-performance PHCUs have replaced the traditional cumbersome classifiers. In PHCU, the crushed ore material is classified into small and large particles. The smallest ones are crushed to a class of at least 74 microns (flour condition), sent for flotation. Anything larger is returned to the ball mill for re-grinding. This makes it possible to improve the performance of grinding and extraction of metals into a concentrate, to ensure maximum productivity in terms of the finished class, to reduce energy costs, and, thanks to a high degree of automation, to optimize the work of maintenance personnel. Summing up, I can say that the PHCU is easy to operate and detect damage, everything is done by automation, so the human factor is excluded in this.

In the future, the installation of PHCU is also planned at the ore mills of the Grinding and Floatation Shop.

Since December last year, new dosing pumps have been in operation at monosection No. 6 of section No. 1. Here, 22 obsolete pumps were replaced with 56 modern ones, which made it possible to achieve accuracy in the supply of reagents for flotation and improve this technological process. Now similar work is being carried out at monosection No. 3 of section No. 2, the launch of new equipment is scheduled for this month.

Representatives of manufacturers, TOMK, Special Repair Works Department, Production Automation Department, Grinding and Floatation Shop, Specialized Repair and Installation Shop and the APCS service of the copper concentrating pant took part in the installation of new equipment and its launch.

Taking this opportunity, I want to note those who actively participated in the ongoing modernization. These are Grinding and Floatation Shop mechanic Dadakhon Isomov, deputy head of the workshop for repair of main process equipment Stanislav Bogoslovsky, head of section No. 1 Inom Tukhtabaev, mechanic of section No. 1 Murod Turgunov, electromechanic for automation of production processes (APP) of section No. 1 Zokhid Pardabaev, mechanic of the pumping bench of section No. 2 Azimjon Pardabaev, mechanic of the pumping bench of section No. 1 Khodjiakbar Khamraev, deputy head of the Grinding and Floatation Shop for hydrotransport Diyor Abdukarimov, senior master of APP of Grinding and Floatation Shop Pardabay Turdiev, flotation mechanic of section No. 1 Muzaffar Ibragimov, electric mechanic of flotation of section No. 2 Otabek Dzhalalov.
