A kind of gift for the 32nd anniversary of our country’s independence was the opening of a new underground pedestrian crossing located near the Oydin farmer’s market.
The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Board of Almalyk MMC JSC Abdulla Khursanov, Almalyk khokim Kobil Khamdamov and the general public. Those in charge noted that the work being done towards transforming our city and improving conditions will continue.
During the event, a group of Complex workers who actively participated in construction work were awarded with valuable gifts.
Construction work on this facility began in May of this year. The construction of the crossing was carried out at the expense of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. The work was carried out by the winner of the tender - the contractor Orion Prom Tex Servis LLC. Funds in the amount of 4 billion soums have been allocated.
The length of the underground passage is 34 meters, depth – 4.5 m, width – 4 m, height – 2.5 m. The walls are finished with granite. The entrance and exits of the crossing are equipped with ramps for people with disabilities. Drainage systems are installed on both sides of the crossing to remove water. 24-hour lighting is provided. It is also planned to install CCTV cameras.
This underground passage was built to prevent traffic congestion on the road in the area of the Oydin farmers market, where there is frequent increased traffic, and is the only one in the Tashkent region.
