11 April 2025, 13:14 1509

The water demands of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex are met through the activities of the Industrial Water Supply Department.

The Industrial Water Supply Department was established on April 5, 1955 and currently consists of 7 production sites and 4 process shifts.

The administration supplies water to the plants, factories and auxiliary units of the Complex , extracting groundwater and monitoring the movement of technical circulating water.

The Industrial Water Supply Department includes:

4 underground water intake basins with clean technical water, where 65 water intake wells operate,

2 underground drainage water intake basins with 146 drainage wells,

7 pumping stations with 44 pumping units installed,

2 outdoor switchgears (OSG) with a capacity of 110/6 kV and one OSG with a capacity of 35/6 kV.

The workforce of site No. 1 in the village of “Yordam” is engaged in the extraction of groundwater from wells and its delivery to industrial zones (capacity - 9,000 cubic meters per hour).

In addition, on this section of the Angren River there are underground water intake basins “Tosh”, “Tosh-Sartamgali” and “Korakhitoy”, on the territory of which 65 wells operate.

Section No. 2 of the industrial water supply department of AMMC occupies an important place in the technological chain of the Complex .

The main task of the section is to return of the process water that has settled in the tailings pond of the copper concentrator back to the same enterprise via a pipeline system.

Currently, the site’s workforce provides a supply of 4,500 to 5,700 cubic meters of water per hour. There are 43 water intake wells and 8 pumping units in operation.

Today, the site is managed by Hasan Kuchbaev.

Section No. 3 of the industrial water supply department includes five pumping stations. Through pumping stations of the II–III lift, technical water is supplied to the following facilities: copper concentrator No. 2, the central machinery and repair plant, including a workshop for repairing of automobiles and special equipment, a Complex d heat and power plant, a pilot concentrating plant, and a zinc plant.

In accordance with production needs, the site team ensures the supply of up to 8,000 cubic meters of water per hour.

Site No. 4 is located in the area of substations No. 53 and No. 54, near the Complex d tailings storage facility of copper concentrators No. 1 and No. 2.

The site has 10 pumping units on its balance sheet, of which four are currently in operation. The site supplies process water to the copper concentrator at a rate of 12,700 cubic meters per hour.
