In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 30, 2018 No. ПП-3954 “On measures for reconstruction and stabilization of the main production facilities of “Almalyk MMC” JSC” the construction of a new sulfuric acid shop at the zinc plant is envisaged in 2022.

In fulfillment of the tasks set on May 11, 2022, a meeting was held between the management of AMMC and representatives of the German company “Metso Outotec”.

During the meeting a bilateral agreement was signed on the construction of sulfuric acid shop No. 6 on the territory of the zinc plant.

According to the document, a foreign company will present a project for the construction of a new facility and install technological equipment to the shop.

Metso Outotec is a global leader in sustainability technology, integrated solutions and services used in the mineral processing, metallurgy, aggregate production and recycling industries.

With the launch of this shop, the morally and physically obsolete sulfuric acid shop at the Zinc Plant will be decommissioned. Thanks to the new shop, there will be fewer harmful gases released into the environment during the technological process. This, in turn, will improve the environmental situation.
