German dual education system will be introduced at AMMC

06 June 2024, 10:24 1047

It is known that one of the factors of Germany’s economic success is dual vocational education. The combination of practical training at the company and the theoretical knowledge acquired at the vocational school offers young people a good start in professional life and a successful career.

An important indicator of the success of this model is the low youth unemployment rate in Germany compared to other European countries.

In 2022, the prospects for the development of the dual education system in our country were determined based on the experience of Germany. The system will be reformed and modernized. The project cost is Euro 7 million.

That is why the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 11.12.2023 No. 647 adopted changes and additions to the education system, aimed at development of a methodology of dual education, based on the successful experience of Germany. In particular, this includes training students in vocational institutions in the form of dual education on the basis of orders from organizations, simplification of the admission procedure focused on the requirements of employers, and digitalization of the system of admission of students to dual education.

Dual education is a key topic of German cooperation with Uzbekistan and Central Asia. On June 4, a delegation of representatives of the German Economy of Central Asia visited Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex and discussed with the management of AMMC the possibilities of deepening cooperation in the field of dual education.

Chairman of the Board of AMMC Abdulla Khursanov noted that it is necessary to adapt the theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which the specialists of the enterprises receive, to modern requirements and improve them.

Since 2022-2023 academic year, the system of dual education for students of the University of Geological Sciences, Almalyk branch of National Research Technological University “Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys” and Almalyk Professional Mining and Metallurgical College was implemented in the structural units of the Complex.

Currently, on the basis of dual system of education in professional directions “Mining works”, “Geology”, “Metallurgy”, “Production automation”, “Mineral enrichment”, “Electrical equipment repair” and “Mining machinery and equipment” 124 students of Almalyk branch of National Research Technological University “Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys”, 19 students of the University of Geological Sciences and 16 students of Almalyk professional mining and metallurgical college have been organized. At the same time, in the process of dual training, students, in accordance with legislative acts, were paid a salary, provided with free meals and protective garment.

During the visit the delegation visited educational institutions with which AMMC cooperates. Including the Mining and Metallurgical Vocational College, - Almalyk branch of National Research Technological University “Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys”, as well as the Engineering School.

Khovsep Voskanyan - Head of the Representative Office of the German Economy in Central Asia:

- Today we discussed with the management of AMMC a large project that is supported by Germany. For the plant, as for any enterprise keeping up with the times, which introduces new technologies into production, personnel with up-to-date knowledge and skills are extremely necessary. I believe that our cooperation with the opportunities available here will be realized effectively.
