JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” carries out effective work on saving (conservation) of fuel and energy resources. In the current year more than 43 organizational and technical measures on energy saving and energy efficiency improvement have been developed and implemented in the structural subdivisions of the Complex.
The implemented measures include installation of frequency converters, replacement of pump motors with more economical ones, replacement of compressors with more energy-efficient ones, installation of low-voltage complete units (LVU) on excavators. Due to the implementation of the above and other measures, savings of 15.2 million kWh of electricity, 3.9 million m3 of natural gas and 1.37 thousand tons of oil products were achieved this year.
Another important point is the transition to a “green” economy, for which AMMC is effectively working on the introduction of renewable energy sources. Solar photovoltaic stations installed in the subdivisions of Complex with a total capacity of 750 kW produced more than 630 thousand kWh of electricity during 2023.
In 2023, the Complex entered into EPC contracts (design, supply and installation of equipment, commissioning) for construction of solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 9,041 kW. This provides for installation at more than 30 facilities of the Complex (8,062 kW - at production units, 979 kW - at social facilities).
Implementation of this project will save 6,200 thousand kWh of electricity per year, which in monetary equivalent will amount to 6.2 billion soums.
In the coming year 2024, the policy of saving fuel and energy resources at AMMC will be continued, remaining one of the priority directions of the Complex’s activity.
