Spring has come. Navruz has come to our country – the most ancient holiday of spring, the symbol of beauty, kindness and mercy. Navruz is dear to all of us because it brings joy and fun to every home, carefully preserving the centuries-old traditions and values of our people.
Today, on the eve of the holiday, the people festivities – sayil took place in Almalyk under the motto “With you, Navruz, the world will be illuminated with light!”
The festive celebrations, organized by the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex and the Almalyk town administration, began to the sounds of karnays and surnays. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC, senator Abdulla Khursanov and the Head of Almalyk town administration Kobil Khamdamov.
According to the already established tradition, the staff of the structural divisions of AMMC will present exhibitions reflecting the national values and traditions of the regions of our country, as well as products, models of structural divisions and special equipment of the plant.
This year, representatives of the professional football team “OKMK” joined the celebration for the first time. Team members organized exciting football competitions and games for the children.
The team of “Omalikmetallurgkurilish” trust prepared for the holiday in a unique way. TOMK employees organized a competition based on the works of the poet Gafur Gulyam. Guest actors Utkir Mengliev and Sukhrob Isomov showed an excerpt from his work “The Mischievous Man” (“Shum bola”). Famous actor Mehriddin Rakhmatov performed monologues from the writer’s works.
The physical culture and sports department of the Trade Union Council of AMMC workers held competitions in Uzbek folk games. These are kurash, tug of war, “Eshak Mindi”, “White Poplar, Green Poplar”, cockfighting. Guests of the holiday also competed in sports such as boxing, table tennis, arm wrestling, darts and chess.
A culinary competition for preparing pilaf among the plant’s divisions was also interesting. For lovers of spectacles, a show of tightrope walkers – darboz – was presented in the “Youth Park”.
In addition, this year the structural divisions of the plant organized an exhibition of national types of bread baked in various regions of our country.
And what would a holiday be without a concert? The concert prepared by amateur art groups of the Palace of Culture “Metallurg” took place near the Bolajon park. Songs by Nihol Prize laureate Dilafruz Saidmetova and pop singer Umar Shamsiev were performed.
Next, on the main stage, the award ceremony took place for the winners of the competition of exhibitions reflecting the national values and traditions of the regions of our country. According to the results of the competition, the team of the copper concentrating plant took third place, representatives of the department of social facilities of “Olmalikmetallurgkurilish” trust took second place. The victory was won by employees of the industrial railway transport department, who gave the children the opportunity to ride a wonderful mini-train throughout the territory where the festivities took place.
The remaining structural divisions of the plant, Almalyk branches of NUST “MISIS” and Tashkent State Technical University, the enterprises and organizations of Almalyk were awarded incentive prizes.
The Copper processing plant-2 won the competition in cooking pilaf. The second and third places were taken by the copper smelter and “Kauldy” mine.
Memorable gifts were presented to the winners of the “My children are my pride!” challenge, which was held among the plant’s employees.
Representatives of AMMC's foreign partner companies also took part in the festive celebrations. They congratulated the plant's workforce on the holiday.
