Under this motto, large public festivities were held in Almalyk on a grand scale, where the townspeople and guests widely celebrated the holiday of spring and renewal – Navruz.

The city administration and the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex had made thorough preparations for this event. The Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC, Senator Abdulla Khursanov and the Khokim of the city of Almalyk Kobil Khamdamov took part in the public festivities.

Around the Metallurg Palace of Culture and the Youth Park, colorful exhibitions prepared by the complex’s structural divisions were traditionally organized. They demonstrated the rich cultural heritage and traditions of different nations. The guests were especially interested in the exhibitions of handicrafts created by students of the city’s educational institutions.

The festive mood was complemented by sports competitions organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Culture of the Council of the Trade Union of AMMC Workers. Competitions in kurash (national wrestling), tug-of-war, taekwondo, darts, checkers, chess, table tennis, boxing were exciting and intense, causing delight among the spectators.

An integral part of the celebration of Navruz were national games that enlivened the atmosphere of the celebration, filling it with the spirit of ancient traditions. These amusements not only entertained the guests, but also reminded them of the rich historical heritage passed down from generation to generation.

Exhibitions and cultural program

For the holiday, the complex’s divisions prepared special exhibitions. For example, the social facilities department organized a children’s town called “Navruz” in the “Bolajon” park.

Also, the highlights of the event were the exhibition of Korean traditions prepared by the “Olmalikmetallurgkurilish” trust, and the exhibition of the copper concentrator-3, which amazed the guests with its creative approach.

Awarding of participants

At the end of the event, an award ceremony for the best was held.

Thus, third place went to the Department for the production of consumer goods, which distinguished itself by organizing a bread festival, an exhibition of national dishes and active participation in the national program “Green Region”.

Second place went to the Department of specialized repair works, which creatively presented the culture and art of the peoples of the Caucasus.

First place went to the Department of social facilities, which gave children the magical town of “Navruz” and a festive atmosphere.

The Grand Prix for creativity, high level of organization and versatility was won by the work team of the Copper concentrator plant-3.

The winners of special nominations were also determined:

“The most organized team” – the Copper concentrator plant, which held a bright sumalak festival and presented Russian culture and traditions.

“Loyalty to traditions” – the Industrial railway transport department, which masterfully prepared Uzbek national dishes: sumalak, tandoor samsa and pilaf.

“The most creative team” – the Central repair and mechanical plant, which beautifully presented Turkish culture and cuisine.

“Mastery and Traditions” – the Zinc plant, which presented Uzbek customs and national values​in all their splendor.

“Propaganda of Beautiful Friendship” – the Copper concentrator plant-2, which organized a fascinating exhibition of the culture, traditions and cuisine of the Kyrgyz people.

“The most goal-oriented team” – the “Olmalikmetallurgqurilish” Trust.

“For Strengthening the Friendship of Peoples” – the Kauldy mine.

Incentive awards for active participation in the festival were received by the “Kalmakyr” mine administration and the thermal power plant.

The celebration of Navruz in Almalyk became a real holiday of friendship, national unity and rich traditions, giving the guests unforgettable impressions.
