+998 71 619 23 33As part of the active development of trade, economic and investment relations with foreign countries, the delegation of representatives of leading Swedish companies arrived in Uzbekistan.
On the first day of the visit, according to the program, the delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Uzbekistan Thomas Danestad, which included representatives of such large companies as Atlas Copco, Epiroc, Scania, Sandvik, SKF, Ericsson and EOL Vent Mining, visited AMMC.
The high-ranking guests were welcomed at the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture by the Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC Abdulla Khursanov. During the visit, the delegates got acquainted with the historical and production museum of the enterprise, as well as with the activities of various clubs and sections.
The guests also visited the viewing platforms of the Kalmakyr and Yoshlik I mines.
It should be noted that about 50 units of Swedish-made equipment are already actively used in the mines of the plant. These are dump trucks, drilling rigs, loading and hauling machines, compressors and pumping equipment.
The Swedish delegation was particularly interested in the new copper Concentrator plant-3, equipped with modern equipment with the highest possible automation.
The delegates also visited the AMMC engineering school, created on the model of the largest European company in the copper industry – "Aurubis". There they got acquainted with the conditions created for the retraining and training of specialists.
The Swedish Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Thomas Danestad, noted: “I am very pleased to visit AMMC today together with the representatives of the largest Swedish companies. It is worth noting that in recent years, the interest in Uzbek enterprises on the global market has grown significantly. This is the result of deepening economic, social and political cooperation between our countries. Today, we have witnessed a large-scale expansion of production at the plant, as well as impressive projects. I would like to especially emphasize the plant's successes not only in the production sphere, but also in training qualified personnel – the engineering school is a striking example of this. Sweden and Uzbekistan have much in common in the mining industry. In Sweden, this industry has a thousand-year history, and today our companies are expressing serious interest in cooperation with AMMC. I am confident that our mutually beneficial partnership will continue to strengthen.”
At the end of the visit, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation.
